The Tie-Dye T-Shirt
6 years ago by
I love pairing something really sophisticated like a dress pant with something unexpected, say, a tie dye t-shirt! Preferably with that “I’m sooooo casual” sleeve roll.
I used to work with this ultra cool woman when I first started out in NYC, who had the perfect sort of uniform (I know I keep talking about this), that consisted of a t-shirt rolled at the sleeves, sleek tuxedo type pants creased down the front, and stilettos. I know, stilettos are ambitious but I always thought it was such a good mix of casual and dressy. Her look truly was day-to-night. Cut to me scrambling to borrow someones lipstick and a weird sample if I wanted to go out after work (I worked in a fashion design studio at the time). The struggle is real!
I think the tie dye t-shirt is the perfect ying to your fancy yang, if ya know what I mean.

I don’t really like tie-dye, it seems so old-fashioned… But it looks great here! :)
Love this top! It gives me that summer feeling!
I would love to try and pull off the tie dye shirt and tuxedo pants!!
great tip!!! will try this perfect yin-yang mix soon.. X
Je n’ai pas encore de t-shirt tie & die mais c’est vrai que c’est très joli alors pourquoi pas ! :)
Wow such a gorgeous look, and I like the unexpected twist. The story of your work colleague was interesting too! :-) xx

I love this! x
Stunning style, so beautiful dess.
Ces exemples de tie-dye qui s’éloignent des éternelles spirales me rappellent ceux de la marque américaine Akomplice qui avait sorti une collection en 2014 appelée Mancha et visible ici
Amazing dress! Simple but so chic!
Nice choice of colors. I especially like the tone-down neon/pastels from J.Crew.
However, this is something easily done at home (the sky’s the limit in terms of creativity and patterns), and WAY cheaper than buying them from Proenza Schouler for instance! I mean, $290 for a tie-dye, seriously?!
