The Summer Jumpsuit
7 years ago by Natalie Holme
There are many instances in which an industrial-esque jumpsuit might be expected: a visit to the mechanic, a guided tour through one of America’s National Parks, prison… I digress. What I’m trying to say is that seeing a variation of the jumpsuit on the streets of Soho, during the summer no less, may come as a surprise.
While reminiscent of all of the preconceived ideas of where jumpsuits belong, Silja perfectly depicts how to wear one around the city. Sure, a khaki onesie may feel like a harsh departure from the denim cutoffs and sundresses usually seen in this climate, but consider two things: 1. Its ventilation properties in the avoidance of sticking to your body 2. Its potential to conceal a bikini, whether the opportunity presents itself or you just get really hot and want to unzip the top half.
Back to Silja who kindly reminds us there are unexpected ways to look really good on a mild summer day. Play it up with delicate gold jewelry, bold sandals (sub for heels when the sun goes down), and dark sunnies. Play it down with a coffee from your favorite outpost and a smile that rings, “Oh what, this old thing??”

I LOVE a good jumpsuit! It’s so easy to get dressed, I have one in white with perfect pockets. The only trick is not dragging it on the floor when using the bathroom : )
The lofty jumpsuit , once the uniform of mechanics , painters and prisoners. The jumpsuit has now become a wardrobe classic, accessories make the jumpsuit!
