The Spring Trench
6 years ago by
I think the biggest mistake I make each year is assuming that once April comes into play, so does the warmer weather. Frankly, that is just not the case. Especially this spring. It is COLD. I’m talking full puffers and gloves kind of cold. Sure, it’s not ideal but I like to look on the bright side of things — we can still have fun with layering. Enter the trench coat. Ah, the trench. Let me count the reasons why I love thee. 1) It’s warmer than it looks. 2) It’s not as heavy on the eyes, compared to your now beat up puffer and peacoat. 3) It’s breathable and allows for lots of movement. 4) If the day starts out at a brisk 39 degrees and ends at a cool 59 degrees you are still good to go. No sweating involved. 5) Who doesn’t love a trench? Classic, cool, and versatile. All the good stuff. So with the help of our friend and stylist Rebecca Alaniz, here are our favorite trench coats for spring!
Trench coat, Vince; shirt, Ganni; jeans, Simon Miller; earrings, Machete.
Trench coat, Tibi.
Trench coat, 3.1 Phillip Lim; shirt, A.W.A.K.E.; earrings, Machete.
Trench coat, Mansur Gavriel; shirt dress, Joseph.
That one from Mansur looks amazing! I love the cut!

The Maje trench is a dream, loving the reversible element!! So effortless for a quick statement piece which is usually discarded at the back of my wardrobe.
