Shala On Washington Street

Shala wasn’t the first person I would have thought to carry a backpack at fashion week, but her recent move to St. Lucia makes it all so perfect.
I’ve always loved the way she puts pieces together – a black shift, saucy heels, and rucksack are just another combination to add to the long queue of admirable looks. Here’s a few words from Shala about her outfit…
Since I moved back to St.Lucia I’ve found myself spending a lot of time in the bush and have found a backpack makes navigating it easier as I need free hands. I wanted one that was brand-free and utilitarian, but didn’t stand out. So I thought the army navy store would be my best bet. I got it on East Houston street.
My anklets are from some part of a car. The boys wear it here in St. Lucia and I’ve adopted it as my own now. My brother’s friend who’s a mechanic, among other things, got them for me.

Très joli ce sac à dos, mais je pense qu’il fonctionne ici car Shala est “looké”, sinon on tombe vite dans l’effet roots / crado.

Les chaussures ultra féminines rendent chic des accessoires qui sont moins qualifiés de féminin (mais super pratiques). Moi aussi j’ai opté pour le sac à dos depuis plus d’un an, un macbook ca pèse lourd et marcher avec 5 kilos seulement sur une épaule ca va seulement 5 minutes…
C’est le même genre de combinaison que Jenna Lyon nous montre tout le temps : une tenue non sexualisée ou presque boyish, et des talons ultra féminins qui tuent (mais avec lesquels on ne peut pas marcher plus de 5 minutes non plus en réalité).
Du coup comment on fait pour rester chic et marcher plus de 5 minutes ?
