A Street Style With Gee Gee Ferguson
5 years ago by
Gee Gee Ferguson has one of those looks that is immediately striking. In the best way. I mean, that hair! That skin! Those freckles! That cool suit! It makes total sense why she is a model. She also happens to be a talented agent and a dedicated student. When one of our freelance photographers, Asia, was planning to shoot in Australia, we knew we had to get Gee Gee on the list. And we’re so excited to share her style with you today!
Describe your style in 3 words.
Edgy, Statement-Making and Eclectic.
What is your ideal outfit or uniform?
A matching suiting set accompanied by a classic high-end sneaker. I personally think I dress like a boy, my style is quite eclectic. There is always just that masculine/ feminine edge about my look.
Who are your style icons?
Definitely Françoise Hardy and Jean Shrimpton from the 60’s era.
Define style versus fashion.
Fashion fades, style is eternal. Whereas fashion is an art that is notoriously difficult to keep up with because trends change seasonally, style is impacted by much longer-lasting factors.
What are the most important qualities of an outfit when you get dressed?
An important factor to consider is firstly – know your body shape and what looks good on it. Once you find those shapes that you feel comfortable and confident in, it’s easier to experiment with colours, layering and anything else that goes. I go through phases. I love capturing a mood or vibe, or being inspired by a character, adding different types of jewelry or textures.
How does living in Sydney influence your personal style?
I am a very visual person so everything about Sydney really influences my personal style. My eye wanders from boutique stores to restaurants, galleries, theatres, street art, and the weekend market.
