This bag is interesting, with the brand name printed all big. Céline put out a t-shirt like that too, a super simple white one with the brand name in big letters. I’ve seen a bunch of girls wearing them and it brings back memories for me. My mom used to wear T-shirts with Chanel written big across the chest back in the 90s. All the fashionable women were doing it.
I don’t really know why. I’ll have to ask my mother, but right now, as I’m writing this, it’s 2:01 in the morning in Ajaccio and I don’t think she’ll be available to answer my question.
That said, I love the simplicity of Elin’s look (the big belt brings it all together). And look at those pumps!!! I have to tell you guys about my quest for the perfect pair of pumps.

La silhoutte est cool et le jeux des proportions donne un côté très élégant mais un peu tuer avec se sac …

Je n’aime pas non plus afficher la marque en grand. Mais aujourd’hui j’ai vu les affiches de Kate Moss avec le T-shirt supreme et sa clope au bec, je trouve ça super. Disons que si on porte un t-shirt comme ça, ou un sac comme ça, faut pas essayer de faire classy. Aussi les escarpins (et son look d’ailleurs) sont supers, mais marcher toute la journée avec ces talons???? NY et Paris sont des villes où on marche beaucoup, faut se trimballer avec 2 paires de pompes dans ce cas-là…

Really simple but adorable and refined look!
Pour moi ce look est sobre et pas très inventif.
des escarpins un slim un pull, du déjà vu.
Mais à sa décharge elle a eu le bon goût de trouver un pull loose qui a l’air super confort, des escarpins qui sont élégants.
Pas très fan de la ceinture, trop large, trop taille basse (ça va qu’elle a de grandes et jolies jambes), ni du sac…
Je n’aime ni les logos ostentatoires, ni les monogrammes, c’est comme ça!

J’ai toujours été contre les vêtements sur lesquels on peut voir le logo, du moins lorsque c’est très apparent. C’est comme une manière de dire “regarder ce que je porte”, donc m’as-tu vu, donc vulgaire. Je préfère très largement lorsque le logo ou la marque est plus discrète, puisque seuls les “vrais” initiés sauront reconnaître la patte d’une maison de couture.
C’est une façon de penser très snob de dire ça, mais j’assume, puisque c’est réellement ma vision des choses par rapport à la mode.

I never can find good pumps.All of them keep slipping of my feet when i walk.
Je reste perplexe sur un éventuel retour en grace du LOGO géant sur les pièces.
Je me disais d’ailleurs récemment, que si le verre fumé qui me sert de porte brosse à dent n’avait pas MARC JACOBS écrit dessus, il n’aurait peut être jamais attéri dans ma salle de bain.
Je reste donc adepte du no logo. C’est à la coupe, au style que l’on doit reconaître une maison, pas au logo.
I love this whole look. I’m definitely not a logo or graphics girl. I don’t wear things with graphics, ever, unless it’s a sports graphic and I’m going to the game. But what’s funny about all of this, is when I saw her outfit, I was in love with the writing on the bag, along with her turtleneck. It’s simple and chic. I’d rock it!

Ça passe, parce-que l’allure est très simple et classe, mais les gros logos, c’est monstre vulgaire quand-même, “au cas où t’aurais pas remarqué que je porte un sac qui coûte un bras”. Le bras d’un petit africain qui crève la faim, par exemple… Enfin là, oui, c’est joli faut avouer :)
Y’a quand-même un GROS avantage à CE sac: si tu t’appelles Céline et que t’habites Paris, ça pourra être très utile dans 40 ans quand t’auras Alzheimer

I agree with the majority of folks here, I’m not a fan of the bag. The whole logo craze does really seem so outdated and tacky to me, but then again I never liked it in the first place. Everyone also seems to be obsessing over her shoes here, which, yes, are lovely, but that sweater! Call me simple, but all I want is that sweater! Bonus points to anyone who can tell me whose it is! Please?!

Mouais, le gros logo ostentatoire, j’ai toujours trouvé ça cheap et vulgaire. Le no logo, c’est bien plus chic ( et bien plus snob!).
Je n’aime pas trop les logos, je trouve que ça fait un peu vulgaire, mais sans le “Céline” en gros, j’aime bien ce sac! Ça m’embarrasse d’y penser, mais j’ai aussi porté un t-shirt avec “Chanel” écrit en grosses lettres dans les années 90. La très jeune fille que j’étais se trouvait très chic (surtout que je l’avais acheté sur un coin de rue à NY pour 5$…la honte!).
Mais j’adore le style d’Elin Kling. Ici en Suède, elle a même son propre magazine!

The bag and the T-shirt is originally about showing that YES you wear Celine/Chanel and YES that makes you cool. But eventually everybody is wearing that LV-covered bag and you just jump on the band-wagon. I feel like that is the thought behind these things.

La mode des logos (90) est apparue avec la démocratisation des marques de luxe. Il fallait dépoussiérer ces maisons qui avaient pour clientèle de grande bourgeoise. C’est d’ailleurs Miuccia Prada qui avec son fameux sac en nylon, a commencé à mettre les logos sur les sacs. On connait la suite…

I think, people wanted to show, what they can wearing brand name clothing. They had wanted to tell all over the world about it, it was considered really cool then.
Mmm, my mother hated it when I wore brands to show across my chest.
Love Elin’s simplicity, though. Personally, I like the way Celine branded like that. I know some other designers have really caught on to that trend. Apparently, brand shirts like that are located in the far back of the store (not in the showroom).

I am not a big sweater fan but I love the mix of its casualness with the polished shoes.
Actually the more I look at it the more I fall in love with the polished (shoes, trousers) happily married with the rough (bed hair, sweater).
On the branding on the bag, I am not a big fan. Probably the trauma of having lived through some years of massive Dior/Chanel branding…a memory I can’t forget as the trend is still alive and kicking in my home country of Morocco. Not sure why people were wearing this in europe but I certainly back home it completely fit with the bling bling over the top style – why wear something and make people guess the brand when you actually WRITE on your shirt :)

Garance, si tu recherches les escarpins parfaits, va voir ceux de Charlotte Olympia. J’ai eu le même problème il y a peu et j’ai trouvé mon bonheur avec de magnifique escarpins en poney (j’savais même pas qu’on pouvais être chaussé en poney Ha Ha!) de chez Elle!
Prada fait de très beau modèles aussi. Mais c’est vrai que c’est pas évident de trouvé une belle paire d’escarpins noire, chic et sobre mais qui sortent subtilement de l’ordinaire…
