Winter Sunglasses

One of the reasons why I love New York is that even in the middle of winter when it’s really cold and life is just one eternal blizzard and your Sorels get stuck in brownish blocks of ice and you want to wear a parka on top of your parka, there’s still sun. Vitamin D!!!
It’s rarely gray outside, so people wear sunglasses all winter long. But the light is different here. It’s lovely – it hits you at an angle, it’s softer. It’s perfect for wearing lighter lenses that give you a bit of style even when you’ve been wearing the same coat for 34 days in a row. So today, we’re showing you a selection of our favorite sunglasses.
I’m totally in love with the Green Gucci ones, of course. I also really like the Chloé pair which are a bit more difficult to wear every day, but then again…

C’est marrant je me suis fait le même genre de réflexion mais en version Made in Italy, vu qu’ici à Florence même en janvier et avec de la pluie, tout le monde a ses solaires sur le bout du nez :-)

Anyone from a truly cold climate knows that sunglasses in winter are to protect your eyes and lashes from freezing when you blink! (Wind protection)
I miss the sunny winters in New England! My winters spent in northern Europe were so difficult because of the lack of sun. In New York and Boston I believe the wind blows off the ocean and chases the clouds away. Boston had so many beautifully sunny days throughout winter. But the light in Paris is mysterious and so very different. The sky in America is different from the sky in Europe. It doesn’t hang as low. That changes your outlook.
And, sunglasses are a favorite inexpensive accessory. Mango, Pixie Market and Forever 21 are good sources for fun sunglasses. Maybe I’m having a crisis about my age (about Garance’s age) but I think daring to wear edgy sunglasses keeps you youthful.
Sinon, j’adore les lunettes Karen Walker, tellement graphiques, geometriques. J’aime bien les formes simples.

Même avis que toi, les Gucci et les Chloé (elles sont folles). Je porte des solaires aussi toute l’année même à Paris et même si le ciel est un peu gris, ça donne du style et du mystère (enfin surtout ça aide lorsque tu as un peu trop fait la fête la veille !) :-)

I have an entire drawer full of sunglasses (and those are the ones that survived the purge!) but I do love lighter lens for gray days with lots of glare. Although Garance posted a pair of green framed sunglasses earlier this year that I’ve been searching for…. just don’t know the brand.
They are all my favorites! The green Gucci and Karen Walker pairs are my absolute favorites! No one asked but the Derek Lam coat is insanely fantastic and the Edun coat just because it’s Edun! I’m a turtleneck fanatic so I’m stuck staring at the one from The Row – a must have! I love summer and spring but fall clothing options are so exciting and expansive – and layering is such an enjoyable art!

j’ignorais ça de NY…quand j’habitais à Madrid c’était comme ça, ça caille énormément en hiver, un froid sec, mais il y avait du soleil, avec un ciel bleu extra !
ps: je perds de gants, des écharpes, je n’ai pas des mains pour porter des sunglasses en hiver…je trouve jolis les pulls et manteau de firste fille and seconde fille ;-)

Yes to sunglasses all year round! They are the most practical and style enhancing accessory! Beautiful selection – I want them all (esp the green).
