So Sensible

To say I love a sensible heel could be directly taken from none other than Erik. He mentions this often, “Oh Brie, she looooves a sensible heel.” And he isn’t wrong. ‘Tis true. The shoe that features a heel no shorter than two inches and no taller than three has been my go-to for years. I feel safe in them. Like a dainty woman, even. One who might sprint for a cab at any moment or dance without hindrance for hours.
And the mid-heel is having its moment – like a movement started by a collective conscious of designers acknowledging the need for wearable footwear that doesn’t look exactly like your grandmother would wear, but also won’t completely deter any suitors at bay. So I took it upon myself to help show you the way. The path into an existence where you CAN walk home after dinner if it’s nice out, one where you are MORE than able to wear a “heel” around your new boyfriend without feeling like you’re trying to make even the busboy jealous.
Les pieds-nus à talon carrés sont magnifiques !!

Merci Alexia!
so many women think about heels like you do but why don’t understand it the designers and the shoe industry? And
those women who can’t live without high heels have to suffer…sorry.

Yes.
If that makes me an old lady, so be it.
A beautiful, sensible shoe is one of life’s small mercies.
OMG, I love them all. I can’t decide. I’ve been over heels for years. Working in the fashion industry in NYC, working crazy long hours, most of us live in beautiful flats. Glad the gorgeous low heels are back!

I just bought a pair over the weekend. Love them!
Les mules sont toutes très jolies, mais… ça me rappelle un fameux post de Garance sur l’usage de la mule sur le chemin du bureau :-)
Okay I need a pair of those! x

If men wore heels for as long as women have, this would be the standard already and no one would have any qualms about being sexy or not sexy. Sexiness is all about attitude, not merely physical appearance. High heel stilettos can burn in h*** for all I could care, they are the modern day equivalent to feet binding that Japanese women endures centuries ago. Long live the sensible heel :)
I love all of these, except maybe for the wooden soles. Very retro. And strong and elegant. Nobody is strong or elegant trying to keep their balance on stilettos.
After buying low heel version of Valentino Ruckstuds last year- and loving the fact that I could run around in them- I treated myself to mid heel Chanel pumps. They became my favourite pair of shoes because I can (and I do) walk around in them, wear them to court, in the office, out in the evening, paired with my jeans. I’m a total convert!

Toute façon les stilettos pour moi c’est niet, je ne suis pas maso ! Alors si je veux porter des talons, c’est plutôt dans ce style !

Super look !! très inspirant pour cet été !
From Paris with love <3
Je suis d’accord avec toi, c’est important de se sentir à la fois féminine ET mobile !
Du coup, je commence à venir aux petits talons… et je rentre à pied !
I’m loving all the cute options for sensible, mid-heels, especially if they’re closed-toe. Sometimes my toes aren’t done up, and I’m too lazy to paint them. I almost bought the silver Zara heels and am still considering them. What do y’all think? Not too shiny to wear in a corporate office? Was the back strap secure or was the heel of the foot slipping out the shoe?
These are great! I love that they’re low, that really does seem like a smart and sensible option — yet stylish. Win / Win?!

I love smaller heels. I never thought that high heels made people’s legs look good in the first place. Seriously, so few people even wear heels.
