It must be the influence of last season’s Dries Van Noten show (which is now in stores, I know, this seasons thing is pretty confusing) but I saw a lot of plaid this season. What’s cool is that most of the time it is not on a plaid shirt (which, as you know, I love – but let’s be honest it’s not the most original thing).
No, I’ve seen it on accessories for example…
Cool and easy.
Or as a total look, like on Candela below, who’s wearing an ensemble from a young Italian brand called Au Jour Le Jour. I can totally see myself rocking this. I love ensembles. It must have to do with my matchy matchy pathology.
Anyway, I love it. Would you be ready to wear a total plaid look?

On a dress: yes, plaid pants: no way! But this has to do with my figure :) I prefer the huge plaid scarf on the picture.

J’adore le tartan surtout porté comme ça. On oublie les kilts, les petites écharpes et on le dégaine à tout va !
I don’t know if I could do a head-to-toe plaid look, but Zara did that suit last season that was green and blue plaid that I thought was absolutely stunning, you know which one I’m talking about. And I think dashes of plaid, in shirts, pants, accessories… always welcome!

et un mélange de matières = tartan lin + tartan laine fine + tartan soie = là on y est !

Je trouve ça très joli comme imprimé, et j’aime beaucoup les deux looks ci-dessus, mais je serais ridicule en total look tartan. Donc juste une petite touche pour moi!

Ahhh mais c’est terrible. Dès que c’est du Dries Van noten je me pâme…C’est un des rares couturiers dans lequel je me vois m’habiller tout le temps! C’est e la fan attitude. En tout cas son ensemble au “jour le jour” est super…ça ne me déplairait pas de porter ce genre de choses. Jolie photo également.

Charmant le tartan sous le manteau beige (3ème photo) mais que c’est moche le bas du pantalon qui tombe n’importe comment ! avec des chaussures qui ne vont pas avec !
et pour la 2ème photo : un seul plaid serait suffisant ! là c’est trop ! et vraiment pas élégant – c’est n’importe quoi de porter des couvertures sur le haut du corps alors qu’elle porte des chaussures super légères et qui ne sont pas du tout en accord avec le reste..
à part tout cela… jolie 1ère photo !

L’année passée j’ai fais une combinaison pantalon, gilet, chemise à un ami d’enfance (il m’avait dit le jour ou je me marie tu me fera mon costume… quelques années sans nouvelles et mon téléphone sonne…). Ca donnait tellement bien que je m’en suis déjà fais une et je compte bien m’en faire d’autre pour ce printemps.

Aaah, le tartan… Je crois que c’est un de mes imprimés préférés, qui d’ailleurs s’est accaparé mon dressing : manteaux, pantalons, écharpes, chemises… Je ne m’en lasserais jamais (je pense).
Beaucoup de personne n’accrochent sans doute pas avec le dernier look, mais je le trouve sublime. En plus j’ai développé une addiction pour tout ce qui est combinaisons et ensembles; 2013, back to the 90’s ?

I wore blackwatch plaid suit to my friend wedding. It was a success. I stand out in a good way. Got to love it. Now I’m eyeing a windowpane suit (still count as a plaid right?) Got to love head to toe plaid. Very eye catching.
Can someone tell me were I can get the plaided suit? I just love it!

C super chouette, mais je crains les critiques du genre : “Tiens tu as mis ton pyjama aujourd’hui?”: ca me rappelle la fois où j’avais mis une jupe assymétrique frangée de chez Malboro, à carreaux, type CowGirl du Far West, et bien, au bureau : “TIens tu pars en pique nique aujourd’hui?”, je ne l’ai plus jamais mise…..et elle pliée au fond de mon placard…….bo
je suis d’accord avec toi, pour porter cela il faut vraiment assumer! Je pense que je twisterai le look avec une ceinture moi, mais sinon cela me fait quand même fort penser à un (certes très très chic) pyjama.

Est ce que quelqu’un peut m’expliquer pourquoi les mannequins aiment bien se montrer avec les pieds en-dedans qui donne un air godiche…
Y’a un truc qui me chifonne…ça fait plusieurs photos que je vois des filles hyper stylées et emmitouflées dans des trucs de dingues mais pieds nus dans leurs shoes….

I totally would! I admit, it is NOT the easiest look in the world to pull off, but I have never met a plaid, tartan or stripe I didn’t like! I may have a pathology too….

ca leur va super bien, elles sont superbes ces 2 filles, mais pour moi le tartan c est le cauchemard mode par excellence, je me réveilles et moi armoire est pleine de vêtements a carreaux ….horreur….
What a beautiful picture (first one)! A “Tartan Snow Fairy”. Love this plaid suit, but I’m not sure I could wear this, as I’m quite small and if the plaid print is that big, it would make me look even smaller…. I think….? I wear a lot of plaid, like a scarf, the boring shirt ;-) and I also found plaid pants where the plaid print is small, so they look good on my tiny self. xxx

I got a plaid suit from Zara (for 100 bucks… cheapy find!) and I absolutely love it! I wear it at night with lace and super high heels or at casual with loafers and an oversized coat

La 1ere photo est belle et poetique.
Quant a etre couverte de tartan, je n’aime aucun imprime en total look, c’est too much. Par contre une touche en echarpe, ceinture ou bien (pourquoi pas) chaussures, c’est parfait (pour moi.)
Overall plaid? I gotta bring out my pajamas!
i went to catholic school growing up so i wore a healthy dose of plaid every day for over a decade. i’m actually glad it’s in fashion because it really brings be back and i can dress myself in it leisurely now and not have to panic that i’m late for mass!

Love these looks at plaid! I particularly love it lining a blazer with the sleeves turned up for a peek – also not that original but I still love it. Also beneath a man’s collar so when he pulls it up, you can see. :) I agree, plaid shirts are so boring, I always think of farmer’s when I see them or square dancing – not really a picture of fashion. Gorgeous photos!
