Mccallan on Howard Street

I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing that the Isabel Marant store is so close to the new Studio…
With the resort collection in stores now, it’s hard not to detour past it on my way home. I have my eye on this pink jacket– Mccallan makes it look super cool.

I had the opportunity to visit Isabel Marant’s showroom in Paris and with that visit, I could understand more her universe.
Extremely eclectic, shabby chic and very boho…Absolutely Love everything she does.

Bienvenue au club!! A chaque fois je me dis “bon, j’arrête avec la Marant, ça devient lourd, j’ai trop de choses qui viennent de chez elle…il y a d’autres marques dans la vie !” et puis, paf, je replonge à chaque fois. J’ai déjà 6 pièces de la new co, dont un top rose fluo comme cette veste…pfff elle va me ruiner ! (bon ce qui est bien, c’est que je porte vraiment tout ce que j’achète chez elle et en plus je les garde des années)

Très jolie tenue. Comme quoi, le rose qui pète, ce n’est pas toujours moche/vulgaire/overgirly. Mais c’est difficile de trouver un beau rose, selon les tissus, il y a toujours un ton en trop ou pas assez.

Heu oui en effet ça risque d’être difficile! Je suis cependant très vexée du mauvais coup que la marque et H&M nous ont fait en France en ne distribuant la collection que dans 5 villes et en n’ayant aucun achat en ligne possible, j’ai trouvé ça vraiment minable pour les petites françaises de province, on n’a juste rien pu acheter, donc gros boycott de la marque de mon côté.
McCallan est absolument sublime, elle a un style incroyable (et elle est trop belle).

The thing that makes me so sad about Isabel Marant is her recent price jump. I can no longer afford the 900 euro shoes or 1770 euros dresses..I remember IM being a cool Parisian secret where the dresses never peaked over 450 euros. Now she is having her Agnes B. moment…Thank GOd for Vestiaire Collective where I can buy used IM and still get my fix!

I have to admit that I’m kinda disappointed lately by the blog. I have been expecting your new format, changes with so much excitement though. I know that you cannot please everyone and it’s not your goal. So those are my personal thoughts ,ok ?(:-)) ; I feel like it’s not as quirky as before and even though you’re not alone now but you have a team with you, there are fewer posts than before and less “pertinent” (I don’t know how to put that wat withouth being rude, I hope you got it). I miss the “diary”, “inside / behind the scenes” touch. You showed us fashion as you were a funny mouse and you were hilarious and so candid. You proposed so many and awesome formats like Pardon My French with your friends, your girls, even DIY with Alex, you drawed awesome diaries. I miss this “frehsness”, your laughs (that I could imagine while reading). I expected also lots from FW with this new changes @ the studio. That I could feel more the NYFW’s energy and crazyness. I don’t know what’s going on : do you start to loose the excitement of the beginner, do you feel like this season is boring (in one or your latest posts you may have mentioned that), or did you switch the actions to instagram? Are yousuper busy with your book, or/and trying to recovering with the jet lag in London? (or ALL of them ! :-)). Don’t feel offensed please, its just my feelings ; the posts are so short now and concise. Maybe you’re adjusting, or it’s your “editorial” goal… Well, longue vie à Garance Dore, au studio ! De toute façon je te suivrai tout le temps donc… Biz (moi aussi j’ai adoré vanessa… Aaaah, Vanessa! Et ces belles boucles. Cette grace)
Oh mon dieu! Tout est tellement parfait! La tenue, la demoiselle, la photo. Cette touche de rose illumine tout le reste.
Quant au fait que la boutique IM soit à côté de chez toi, si ça peut te rassurer, pas de boutique près de chez moi mais pas moins tentée avec les Net à Porter & co ;)

I’m not at all keen on the pink jacket! In contrast I love her new range for the summer – all the indigos, whites and burgundy, easy styles for easy living. I love looking to all the designers ranges but they are completely unaffordable for the normal person on a normal salary.
I adore the grey industrialness with the pop of pink. Great photo!
