I have a kind of feeling that today, when everybody is wearing ripped jeans, tattoos and studs, being different is being dressed like Jessica.
I’ve always loved these types of silhouettes, super feminine and cinematic – way too complicated to achieve for me (I love my jeans and my sneakers too much!) but I love seeing girls dressed like that on the street and I’m secretly dreaming that one day, a wind of change will take me and that I will become this extremely feminine woman that makes heads turn.
In the meantime, I admire ;)

Garance i must say that i agree with you ..it is so sexy /feminine/elegant+++ to see a girl/woman like that in the streets..and it is getting rare..there is still one city in the world where you can find this look in the streets and it’s Paris. the rest of the world are so much into comfortable..jumping from bad look ..that even if you dress like that you feel like a rare bird..you resist for few days ..and you just jump into comfort..

Jolie silhouette feminine mais pas du tout mon style, j’aurais l’impression d’etre deguisee mais sur cette jeune femme, c’est tres elegant.
Dear Garance, come on! :) Why do you see yourself as a tomboy? You are not! You are so feminine and chic, even in ripped jeans and sneakers, and I really think it is a piece of cake for you to pull off a look like this.
Btw, I totally agree with your comment on this “new diversity”… god I’m so bored with all those trying-to-hard-to-look-different-from-everyone-else people.

C’ est marrant car je viens de recevoir aujourd’hui une énième ” wrap dress” de chez Diane , et même si avec l’ âge ( 45) mon style devient plus ” sport ” , j’aime toujours être féminine et élégante ( et faire plaisir à mon homme ) , le tout étant d’ éviter de faire dadame et après 40 ans il faut être vigilante !
PS : la wrap dress , il n’ y a rien de plus confo !

Idem ici, j’achète des trucs hyper féminins, dans la boutique je suis super emballée et puis je rentre a la maison et je trouve toujours une bonne excuse pour ne pas porter ces trucs qui finalement ne sont pas moi!!!

I’m definitely a tomboy. I’m a slim pear shape … broad shoulders from spending my teenage years wind surfing and playing water polo. Skirts and dresses don’t suit my shape, as they tend to swamp me. I love the ‘feminine tomboy’ look. It’s me to a T. I can understand it Garance when you say you’re a tomboy … it’s NOT a bad thing at all. You look gorgeous and funky! I’ve learnt so much from your blog about dressing well (Equipment shirts have become a staple in my wardrobe). You can be feminine AND comfortable! xoxo from Sydney

Ah bon ben moi je suis habillee comme ca plus ou moins tous les jours, je reve de trucs cloutes (enfin si je suis honnete de louboutins qui font punk mais que je pourrais qd meme mettre au boulot) parce que bon mon travail est pas dans un secteur fun comme mode ou journalisme donc pour eviter les tailleurs faut bien s habiller, aujourd hui j ai une jupe rouge a imprime chinois euh en fait ptet c est japonais quoi y a des arbres noirs avec des petites fleurs balnches ds un style asiatique ET a fishtail ( ben ouiais) moi tout le monde commente toujours sur mes vetements par exemple a la creche ce matin une maman que je ne connais pas me dit ‘hey lady what a skirt i love it’ bref on peut avoir presque 40 ans et etre bien sapee et originale tout en restant classique pour pas choquer trop les fat cats corporate

Oh..I think everyone pulls one of these looks off once in a while, but I admit, not usually this well co ordinated, which i absolutely love. What an amazing print that is!!! I love jeans or shorts , but every once in a while you have to wear dress and let the guys know you have legs.

I think they key here, print on print, is the monochromatic tone. I like that the outfit, in two parts (blouse and skirt), is just in one combination of color, so despite it’s print on print, the look is coherent. And the shoes, while feminine are muted as well. I agree, silhouette is great. It looks comfortable enough to pull off all day, in the streets of New York.

I love to mix it, one day jeans, one day something feminine, I still find the forties and fifties very inspiring and Jessica’s outfit is such a nice interpretation of a forties look.

I like this feminine silhouette, and the different scales print gives it a contemporary look.
Je pense que changer de style en fonction de la journée que l’on a prévu est ce que toutes les femmes font(enfin pour ma parts). Un look plus décontracté pour acheter sa baguette et un look plus classe pour un dîner au restaurant ;)
