Valentino is a dream! And Yes… I remember that video very well, it is one of my favorites! This would be really a dream come true….. when you can actually see the miracles up close and touch and feel the fabrics!!! I’d choose this over a front row seat any time! xxx

I once did the same thing in LDN, I entered a Chanel store and spent AN HOUR inside!! I even made friends with the sales girl…. Just looking at the clothes made me feel goosebumps. Besides I could not believe I was inside a Chanel store!!! The only ones who were unhappy were my parents!!! Lol, they could not understand my infatuation with the double c.

Of course I did not buy a thing, but My lungs were full of chanel air!!!!

Mon premier souvenir Valentino c’est aussi ma première fois à Rome. Un truc de fou en de baladant du côté de la Piazza di Spagna, je me suis retrouver devant l’entrée de l’hôtel particulier qui abrite la maison de couture, c’était toute l’essence de l’Italie entre passer et modernité, nostalgie… tien je pourrai y aller pour mon anni la semaine prochaine non? Non ma carte de crédit veut pas réserver le vol???

On doit vraiment avoir l’impression d’être dans un autre monde en entrant dans une magnifique boutique de Valentino! Je n’ose jamais rentrer dans des boutiques de luxe, mais il faudrait que je le fasse, pour m’imprégner de toute cette beauté!

Thanks for these wonderful pictures. I cannot say how much I love Valentino lately, the two designers are doing really well. I also loved the new Dolce & Gabbana A/W show, I see the quality of our handicraft in their works (Valentino+D&G). I am extremely lucky and happy to live in Milan, Italy where fashion is all year everywhere in the air… Oh how I love wandering and loose myself in the main fashion streets and dream the whole time…

C’est vrai, il ne faut jamais avoir peur de pousser la porte de ces belles boutiques, juste pour regarder. A Paris l’accueil y est toujours courtois (par contre beaucoup moins en Italie, je trouve). On y retrouve vraiment l’esprit d’une maison, son univers, ce que l’on ne capte pas dans les grands magasins.

I agree it’s great to walk in these kind of stores, even without buying, but I’m pretty sure we wouldn’t be as welcome there as you are. I often feel very uncomfortable in more expensive stores, because I really feel like I’m being watched

I live in Argentina, and when last year I set foot in Paris for the first time since childhood one of the first things I did is visit de Chanel store in Rue Cambon, I wondered around there for about an hour, everyone was so nice, they completely understood that I was there just to see, to touch, to smell even this magical place. It was wonderfull, i even took a dare from my boyfriend and tried a perfect and super classic black jacket, and asked for my size in my begginers french and all jaja.
It’s an oportunity one can’t pass up, if you love fashion and clothes!

Those necklaces are simply gorgeous! The store seems a fashion heaven!

I totally agree, everyone who is interested in fashion should visit the stores of their favorite brands. It’s just what you said yesterday in “Trending”, Garance … it’s about being inspired, taking an idea and making it your own. Not necessarily about buying stuff (though that is fun too, let’s admit it).

But most importantly it’s about developing your eye … paying attention to the way a truly great designer uses proportion and color, and how quality clothes are constructed. Having a good sense of these things informs your decisions when you *do* make a purchase. It also helps you make the most of what you already own.

Seems from my experience that so many American women have the attitude, “I can’t go into store X, because I can’t afford to buy anything there.” Can’t tell you how many times I’ve mentioned a trip to Saks (just Saks, not a Valentino boutique! Or Chanel!) and had a woman tell me she’d never been there. Never been inside Saks! I try to explain the value of just visiting, and that they should not be intimidated to go and look.

*sigh* I know I am preaching to the choir here. Sorry for the rant. This a “thing” for me. :)

The photos are beautiful, thanks for sharing … the collar + necklace look is thought-provoking for sure. I also love the dresses with the lace inset fronts. Kinda reminds me of dickies (is that weird?)

J’aime beaucoup l’idee du petit col associe au collier, c’est quelque chose qu’on peut s’approprier facilement et a moindre budget! Ideal pour rehausser une petite robe bustier ou un costume sobre.

J’ai aimé la présentation des colliers, mais les mannequins sur les autres photos m’ont déçu. Même si les photos visaient a refléter un état d’esprit nonchalant, la présentation n’était vraiment pas au niveau espéré et je trouve ça vraiment dommage, ce n’est ni esthétique ni un exemple à donner.

I’m loving the mustard and lime bags, particularly the clutch with the “mani strap” (I just made that up, I guess they’re just handstraps).

I love visiting the stores of designers I love but can’t always afford. If a sales associate is worth their salt they will recognize a customers appreciation for quality and good design. I will never forget an employee at Marni who on a slow day, spent a ton of time talking with me about the new collection, handbag construction, etc and she gave me a look book to take with me. Such a small gesture but that’s a great representation of the brand.

I love big necklaces bit white shirts, even with tshirts… Regarding the Valentino video, which I didn’t get to see before, the collection is breathtaking…. such delicacy and beauty…. The coat is a beauty….

The most beautiful scene of this production is watching the talented craftswomen. The handmade nature of the manufacturing makes the garments feel heavenly or dreamy. Thanks for sharing with us Garance.
