It might not be an everyday beauty look, but we loved the makeup at the Marques Almeida show in London.
The designers, Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida, looked to 90s grunge as the inspiration for creating the look. The eyes are lined in burgundy, done in a very random way, as if the girls themselves had done them– careless and unapologetic. The ultimate effortless, raw beauty look.

The projections, music, and atmosphere all totally transported me. I loved the femininity of the collection and I also appreciated that it was a softer collection, without tons of accessories that right away everyone would be saying will be on everyone next fashion week.
In that sense, I compare this collection to Marc Jacobs. No gimmicks, just true clothes, lots of dresses. Dresses, so many dresses this season! We gotta start thinking about giving our jeans some rest.

How do you dress when the weather is disgusting? Ok, we get it – what we’re going to find in the streets during the shows won’t give us an answer.
During the shows, it seems like everyone is having a great time defying the weather.
Not necessarily in terms of temperature – don’t be fooled by these snowstorm pictures… It’s not so cold in Milan, which explains why the snow coming down on us is all wet and turns to slush the second it hits the ground and makes my life a fight against the elements.
It’s also why in all my photos today, people seem to be rather lightly dressed.
But what they do is defy the weather in terms of colors. Why didn’t anyone send me the memo?

Freshly showered (= rolled out of bed, three hours in the shower later I finally remember that I’m in Milan)…
I loved these very “punk” hairdos at the Fendi show. A long and very tight French braid with a band of fur on top (fur is Fendi’s DNA!) makes the most luxe mohawk.
