Back in Paris, I got the chance to visit the Alaïa exhibit before its opening. Having the entire Palais Galliéra to myself was so fabulous – and even more surrounded by Alaïa’s timeless designs. It was a fascinating and restrained exhibit – the transparent plastic mannequins completely disappearing behind the dresses, giving them a beautiful and almost disturbing presence.

A few steps away, it continued at the Musée d’Art Moderne where dresses that were specially created for the exhibit were placed in front of Matisse frescos. So incredibly moving…
