What Allison is wearing under her shirt is not another shirt, it’s a dickie. I find the idea fantastic. Next time I’ll go thrift shopping, I’ll definitely try to find one!

Yes, I love it! Layering gets real hot, real fast when you’re indoors. So no sleeves would help a lot.
I agree, it can really hot. But i think it would look much better with long sleeves.
My mother always told me that you have to suffer to be beautiful… To some extent she’s damn right :-)

J’en ai trouve un chez COS avec un col claudine en forme de “pétales” (faute de trouver une description). C’est tellement bien comme accessoire. Ca rajoute un plus à un pull ou une chemise sans être trop engoncé!
Par contre, ce n’est pas facile à trouver, c’est dommage!

Best blogs are the ones u get a real inspiration out of it and so many many many know that ur one is one of the, but the story about this post and how all gets together is – went to topshop today, sale, nice thing but i don’t know do i need, like this, but a dress, an underdress? topdress? nightdress? after reading ur post, i know i need the thing, ill go tomorrow 10 am when shop opens, hopping no one wanted te hing yet.

Hey Garance! Evidemment quand on dit plastron on pense à cet espèce de bout en plastique pour les hommes ou alors aux rideaux en dentelle jaunis de notre grand mère mais je pense que s’il est assez raffiné cela peut donner un effet tout à fait surprenant !

I love the idea! My brothers used to wear those! (not lace ones, though) Unfortunately I’ve been dealing with hot flashes lately, so I’m looking at my clothes in a whole new way. It’s got to be easy to take off or unbutton, and still look nice. A sweat soaked shirt is never attractive!

ah bah là je me moque des éventuelles remarques désobligeantes des autres, il est MAGNIFIQUE !!
C’est très répandu en Allemagne mais dans en version fausse chemise sous un pull…une dame allemande m’avait expliquée que c’était très courant dans sa jeunesse car ça donnait l’impression d’avoir une chemise sous son pull et donc de faire partie d’une certaine élite qui avait les moyens de se payer ce type de vêtements… de plus ça séchait très rapidement après lavage apparement ;)

L’accessoire idéal pour rendre chic une tenue, sans trop d’effort.
Quelle pièce superbe et la photo rend bien l’effet de transparence. Difficile de croire que ça a pu être moqué ou ringard, tellement ça semble délicat comme détail sur une tenue.
Je suis dans ma période transparence et je trouve cette pièce superbe et très glamour :)

Ca pourrait aussi se porter sous un top transparent, pas seulement une chemise ?
C’est marrant, car dans la FW12-13 de Balenciaga, on trouvait le pastron sous le sweat… Pièce cachée mais collerette travaillée… l’idée fonctionne bien en hiver. En été aussi mais pas s’il fait trop chaud… ou alors sans le sweat !

I figured it was just a band of lace and I was ready to go to the fabric store. A dickie is brilliant. I hadn’t seen them since the 80’s, until I saw one at Forever 21 last month. Are dickies making a come-back? Oh the fun we could have!
I’ve been on the fence about this piece of clothing. Maybe it was all the yucky mock turtleneck dickies from the 90s that did it for me. But this? Now, this lovely piece I could definitely DO!!
i do this. specially when the first shirt is soft and feels like im wearing a open-front (?) -dont really know hot to describe it in english- very comfortable shirt, and i can wear a more of a men-loose-open striped shirt on top. i dont even mind if the collars collides. im a shirt girl, cant do anything about that! :)

This is nat a dickie, it’s a Chemisette (little shirt). Dickie is a false shirt-front for men, a chemisette is a false blouse-front for women.
So pretty! Dickeys or Chemisettes are a great way to look thinner, stay cool and expand your wardobe.
