StyleLikeU is now a book!
Published last month, I can’t think of anything I’d love more to put on my coffee table. It’s filled with stories of people from all backgrounds speaking openly about how their own personal journeys have influenced their personal style. I love books that share the stories of strong individuals and shifts your perspective and inspires you to do something greater.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with StyleLikeU, it was started by a pretty cool mother-daughter duo. Elisa and Lily create content focused on spreading self-acceptance, gratitude, and freedom in your body and mind. They’ve been building a global movement with the goal of escaping the expectations of the fashion world and the messaging it throws at society.
Their “What’s Underneath” project is a series of documentary-style segments that feature a subject removing articles of clothing as they share intimate thoughts on their own journey of self-acceptance and perception. The videos are always raw, emotional, and just plain inspiring, and they all further the project’s goal of showing that, as Elisa and Lily believe, true style is the result of radical self-acceptance.
What’s underneath made me cry more than once. And some of the women talking were able to say things I want to say but can’t. I will definitely take a look at the book!!
Me too!
