Oh Louis Vuitton…
How you’ve grown since the enviable “Speedy” bag (which still continues to grace the streets with its not so humble appearance swaying on elbows from NY to Tokyo)!
But this new bag, the Louis Vuitton Monogram Petite-Malle, that debuted on the fall runway is essentially the coolest and also the most impractical luggage that doubles as a purse ever.
It’s on the top of my most wanted list. Was that Nicolas’ intention? To get my attention by making a covetable bag that is likely to join the classic ranks of the Speedy?
I like it, and am already planning to buy it in 10 years when its vintage.

Les sacs Vuitton et leurs sigles sont devenus communs, et pour moi, le phantasme du LV, c’est terminé. On en voit à peu près partout, autant que du Zara. D’autre part la marque exhibe tellement sont sceaux sur toutes les pièces que ça les rend identifiables au premier coup d’œil ; Fini le mystère lié au voyage et à l’exclusif, non basé sur le luxe pour le luxe, mais sur le privilège d’explorer, en rêve ou dans la réalité, les pays les plus exotiques…

I have never understood the Vuitton bag. I find the leather and colour quite ugly. This is a cuter version than the big one everyone carries, but still.
Est ce que tout ce que J Teller touche multiplie par 20 000 sa désidérabilité ou c’est moi ?
LV souffre beaucoup de son omniprésence sur tout type de bras, et si on rajoute à tous ça la contre-façon, même l’éternel Speedy a pris un gros coup de massue de banalité. Vraiment dommage, car la qualité est vraiment remarquable, surtout lorsqu’on compare un Speedy avec un sac dans le même ordre de prix (Darel, Dreyfuss, M. Jacobs, See by Chloe, etc.). Là, on sait qu’on a un produit de luxe dans les mains, ce que nous ne pouvons pas dire des sacs précédemment cités. Bref, on n’avait pas l’impression que LV se souciait des désirs d’une femme type française (élégante, discrète, etc.), le marché était ailleurs, et il reste ailleurs (Russie, Chine, et tous les pays émergents). Encore lorsque « l’autre marché” était le Japon, c’était moins dérangeant…LV a tout à fait les moyens de regagner la confiance de la modeuse parisienne, comme il a fait avec Sofia Copolla. Même si on veut bouder la marque, franchement, avec LV, il ne faut jamais dire jamais!
