Clutch It
11 years ago by
The fall runways were all about carrying your bag (no matter the shape or size) as a clutch–remember, we showed you some of them here…
Now that fall is just around the corner (eek!) I’m looking back at some of these trends for inspiration when it comes to planning all of my fashion week Altfits. I’ve since learned that not every bag can be a clutch.
For example, my Alexander Wang Rocco is quite impossible to turn into a clutch (way too heavy thanks to all those studs), even with my arms through the handles (on the plus side, it would be a good workout for my noodle arms).
But I’m not giving up on the idea! If you build it, they [he] will come. Right? (Is it still legit to make references to Field of Dreams?) So I’m still hunting for the perfect bag-clutch…clutch-bag? This one from J. Crew has been on my mind since the presentation. I know what you’re thinking, “It’s just a clutch Alex! This doesn’t feel like a bag-clutch, you’re cheating!”
Okay, I might be cheating a little bit but, this clutch turns into a tote! Yes, that’s right. It’s true fashion magic! That strap along the side also makes it the easiest to carry clutch in the world, I mean, seriously.
I love the idea of clutch bag and they are nice but not always practical as I carry my whole life in my bag lol.

xx.
Check out the various clutches from Marie Turnor at marieturnor.com. Sizes vary from the tiny ( snack) to the large (dinner). Reasonably priced, beautiful leathers and all gorgeous!
At the beginning I thought that was a fashion drawing, maybe because of the strong violet colour!

You’re hilarious. Where would we be without J. Crew (I often ask myself)? I just ordered the white with palm trees Samudra clutch (which I discovered while “researching” the surfer girl from the Sartorialist blog- I know Garance posted about her clutch too). Anyhow, I am not a bag person AT ALL. I will military/cargo jacket it up just to avoid carrying a bag. But I just had this vision of that clutch (even in the fall) with my new j.crew camo cargo jacket that I couldn’t shake. I anticipate many instances of awkward clutching, but it’s worth it if you find the right one…
I already have the perfect one for my autumn transitional looks ( posted here http://www.well-living-blog.com/2013/08/thinking-in-autumn.html ) of my beloved spanish designer Purificacion Garcia !

To be honest, I’ve never been a fan of clutches unless it is a small one for going out. I’d rather not carry a bag; I like to let it hang on me. It makes my life so much easier, especially when I am traveling or shopping.

For all those who aren’t fans of clutches you may want to rethink them. Clutches are fun, small, and don’t take away from your outfit. You will see me with a clutch 99.99% of the time!

Is that a photo or an illustration? It’s beautiful.
Very nice shoes. Great day.

not a big fan of clutches, and this trend just seems so silly .. I NEED BOTH OF MY HANDS for heaven’s sake.
moreover, clutches seem a bit dangerous for a scatterbrain like me. it would be so easy to just youknow.. leave it somewhere. or accidentally throw it away … i need my stuff strapped to me. maybe i should just look into fanny packs.. (jk)
Oh i love the Wang Rocco bag.. i purchased it but it was too heavy! so i returned :( How has been ur experience with it?
Go clutch with real clutch, Girls!!
I really like how using your bags are clutches look but I’m scared that my sweat will stain the leather!! what to do, what to do? Maybe gloves are the answer. :P
