When Garance and I met Rashida in LA, it was instant girl crush. Like Jenna Lyons level. (You saw my iPad hommage in Pardon My French. It’s serious.)
We watched her movie which made me fall that much more in love with her. Celeste & Jesse Forever is exactly how Rashida describes it, it’s about two people who love each other but can’t figure out how to be together and how they try to handle that love and the struggle that comes with it. The film kind of has everything you’re looking for: it’s funny, it’s sad, it’s sweet and most of all it feels real.
It comes out on DVD in the US on February 5th and is opening in New Zealand, Hong Kong, Sweden and Germany in the coming months!

I hadn’t even seen a trailer for this film until tonight. It looks so good! Though I already empathize with Celeste WAY more than I’d like to. *sigh* Definitely a film to watch with a bottle of wine and a good friend.

j’adore rashida. il faut la voir dans la série parks & recreation.
j’ai adoré celeste & jesse, tellement juste sur la jalousie, l’amour qui devient amitié tendresse, frustrations, envies, regrets, un bon film de trentenaire un peu paumé :)

I just watched the movie and I have tears in my eyes. Like you said, it’s real, no hollywood cliche. I can absolutely relate to the story, but most people probably can!
