Bright Eyes

The magic of white eyeliner.
The first thing I noticed when I stepped backstage at Prabal Gurung was how bright-eyed all the models looked– what was in the coffee back there?
Turns out, it wasn’t the coffee (or even a full night of sleep) but white liner applied on the lower lash line. I ran back to the studio and went straight to the beauty closet (fingers crossed that we had some white liner on hand–we did), applied it and I’m happy to inform you that it totally works.
PS: Try MAC Eye Kohl in Fascinating or Rouge Bunny Rouge’s Eyes Wide Open Brightening Liner Duo (geniusly named).
I loved it!
I’m posting looks from Los Angeles and accessories:

a little white on the waterway helps! :)

Wow, super beau !
xx.
Hi Maeva! You could also try a light pink or beige pencil. The Rouge Bunny Rouge pencil has a white end and a light pink end! xo Alex

She looks perfect. NAtural and she is so young.. I need a make up. hm.

She looks so young and fresh.
And I’ll have to try this white eyeliner trick!

i dont know if they still make it, but paula dorf’s baby eyes! it’s a pencil in a nude color, i apply to lower lid line and it has a similar effect, but even a little more natural

Oh I already know that trick thanks to Lisa Eldridge. A white or beige eye pencil in the water line is the best solution to woken up a tired face. It looks so fresh and adorable on the model. I really need a boost like that in my make up routine. Thanks for the product suggestion Alex, I’m going to try the MAC Eye Kohl asap.
A great little trick to make you instantly look wide eyes and awake – which during fashion week is essential!

Unfortunately for me, MAC white pencil applied in this way gave me a raging conjuctivitis after first application. Devastated,
I could see that happening to me too, and I’m sure it wouldn’t be too good for my blepharitis either :(
I’d say, for those who can, reserve it for the special days, because by putting makeup over your waterline, you actually paint over your eyes’ oil glands.
Hi Alex! I have an amazing white but a little bit pink eye liner by & Other Stories that I think you might like… the name is Linen White. It’s super soft, it looks amazing and it brights up and opens my tiny eyes like no other eye liner does!

On m’a conseillé le Mac multi-usage nw 25 et nc 30…
à voir.
This has been a staple of mine for the past year! But instead of wearing white eyeliner which can be a little too bright and freaky looking for everyday wear I use an off-white liner by Mac. It’a Chromagraphic pencil. They have a few fleshy tone pencils to suit every skin tone and it’s a great great way to open the eyes and make them look super healthy!
I have the Benefit one, but I’m always afraid it looks too noticeable. I’ll have to try it again!

I put on a pinkish toned champagne liner on my bottom water line. It’s more natural looking than the white and the little shimmer of the champagne gives an illusion that your eyes are glistening with a little bit of tears. I find that it makes you look fresh and innocent.
I love this idea. I’ve been using a white eyeliner almost everyday and can really tell the difference-

Thank you for showing this! I’ve had white liner for a while, but I haven’t been inspired to wear it much until now. What a pretty and polished look!
I have done this for years. But it looks more natural and less obvious if you use a nude or flesh coloured pencil; most makeup brands have them.
