Sweet Escape

In the beginning of February, Christina came to me and said she wanted to produce a fashion editorial based on Corinne Day’s photographs of a young Kate Moss. You’ve probably seen them. They’re very pared down, in black and white, and on a beach.
I laughed because six months prior Tori came to me with the exact same request. So six months ago, Tori and I flew out to LA and produced Down to Earth Swim.
And three weeks ago, Christina and I did the same thing for this editorial! I think this back story is important because it’s such a great example of how inspiration works. The two editorials don’t have much in common beyond the beach backdrop, but they both used the same single photo as their springboard of inspiration.
Having Christina’s boyfriend, the always entertaining Devin, tag along to not only shoot the photos, but snag this gorgeous video (detailing the true wedding story of our model, Nicola!!!) was just the icing on the cake.
Tres beau reportage, les photos sont magnifiques surtout celles en noir et blanc.
THIS IS INSANE!!! So good.

I love mood of the video and the images. Now I miss the ocean and wish I could wear whites like her.
One of the best edits I saw this week. And I see so many! Really good… like, it touched my feelings good.

Now I want to see a pic of Nicola in her dress and that beautiful ring!
One Word:

Beautiful!! (Also, “pared” down. (-: )
Wow ! J’adore cette série… L’atmosphère est vraiment trop belle et la vidéo, je n’en parle même pas !
Dear Garance,
This is beautiful!
I know you don’t normally do this, but I love the photography on your website so much! and as a budding photographer, it interests me to know things like the kind of lens used. Is that something you could possibly share in your posts? Or do a whole post about?
