Style Story / Jennifer Fisher
6 years ago by
Jennifer Fisher is a powerhouse. She completely takes control of a room, and everyone is 100% okay with it because she’s savvy, humorous, and warm all at once. Her style is as complex and balanced as her personality (not surprising for an ex-stylist) and she designs some of the best damn jewelry around. Jennifer is one of my favorite personalities I’ve gotten to spend time with thus far and I’m thrilled to share a little glimpse into her style and life with you. Meet Jennifer!
Describe your style in 3 words.
Casual, Minimal, Monochromatic (with pops of red)
What’s most important when it comes to style: comfort, beauty, or innovation?
Comfort.
Most valued thing in your closet?
My JF charm necklace which represents my life and my family.
Do you have a fashion muse?
No. I have gone through phrases…Kate Moss in the rebellious phrase. Tonne Goodman for her color blocking. Phoebe Philo for her coats and pants. As I have evolved I’ve realized just to trust how I feel and go with it. Not to look outside for specific inspiration.
Are there things you don’t wear?
Scoop necks and mini skirts.
Jennifer Fisher has become a household name. It’s my personal go to for a classic hoop and one of the first brands responsible for the personalized jewelry movement. Can you tell us a little bit about how you got into the industry and what inspires your designs?
I began my career as a wardrobe stylist working on feature films, television shows, and commercials in both New York and Los Angeles. After ten years of dressing and styling Hollywood, I met my husband, Kevin, and we settled in New York City. Upon the birth of our first son, Shane, I began to look for a piece of jewelry that not only spelled his name, but also expressed my own personal style. Unable to find anything unique, I designed a god tag with Shane’s name stamped on the front that I styled with a long, thick link chain. When friends, family, and even strangers began to request that I design one for them, Jennifer Fisher Jewelry was born.
You exude an infectious confidence and your style reflects that. Have you always been so confident? Or do you feel like that has changed over the years? If so, what has changed and why?
Confidence comes with age. But my parents taught me early the importance of self confidence. Everyone has, and is entitled to, an opinion – you can’t please everyone. Be kind and do your own thing. Do not worry about negativity. This set of values is even more important to me now as a parent.
I have to ask – which comes first when you dress, the jewelry or the outfit?
Interestingly enough… the outfit.
She has definitely an adorable style!
