Embroidery Details
6 years ago by
When I imagine a quintessential summer day, full of all of my favorite summer things, it always involves a golden hour walk on the beach, a glass of white wine, a perfectly dewy complexion fueled by the sea salt filled air, and a crisp, white, embroidered dress that wisps around in the wind just so, as if it were a new born butterfly. That is my happy place. And it is a vital imaginative state when preserving my sanity during the New York winters. I am pleased to share a selection of my favorite embroidered pieces to make you feel like a golden, wispy, summer goddess.
We chose to highlight more demure pieces in neutral tones, but there are endless options of bold and beautifully colored garments too, which I highly recommend if you find yourself in Rio… juuuust saying.
Embroidery has been around for centuries, and for good reason. It’s the perfect addition to the simplest of pieces to give them just the right amount of oomph.
A free-flowing dress is made that much more intriguing when given the right amount of attention to detail it deserve. Delicate thread work on a sleeve or hemline can make all the difference.
So wear as you please! And if you find yourself gliding along the beach in that crisp, white, embroidered dress I mentioned before, please share it with us via social media – mainly because of the smile it will bring to my face, happy place or not!
Top, Doen; Jeans & Belt, A.P.C ; denim Jacket, Isabel Marant.
Skirt, Derek Lam 10 Crosby.
Dress, Ulla Johnson.
Love the embroidery details – the final dress is super cute, and the perfect flowy summery evening dress. I’m gearing up for summer and sandal-weather and reviewing my favorite tool for baby soft feet here: https://bit.ly/2HwAwWw
I love Ulla Johnson!
When clothes take on a beauty that is unique it gives one that personal touch . Being a craftsman, I suggest embroidering some pieces yourself….. I’d rather poke my eyes out .
