Alice Gao has really great style. And capturing her on these Gramercy Park steps felt like a quintessential New York moment, one that catapulted my fall wardrobe incentive into full throttle.
The shoes, the hues (can’t resist a rhyme), the accessories – it all blends together to form the perfect mix of utility and sophistication. A style that feels very true to who she is sartorially and professionally (she’s a photographer) – like each facet of her identity is an extension of the other, and damn does it look good.

My heart did a little flutter upon seeing the face of a Chinese woman on here (so confident and elegant)! This is my favorite lifestlye journal and an Asian face is so rare that I did a double take.
I was just thinking the other day how I am reluctant to post pictures of myself because (as mature as I am at 35 :) I still have days where I think that my button nose, full lips, and darker skin aren’t attractive. Compounded by the fact that the only Asian women you do see in media are usually very fair, with tiny noses and mouths.
