A Street Style with Evanne and Viktorija
5 years ago by
Evanne Cochrane and Viktorija Svedkova Jasevice are two of the most stylish gals working PR–they also happen to be close friends! We caught up with them on a recent scorching summer day….
Describe your style in three words or phrases?
Evanne: Relaxed, Understated, Clean.
Viktorija: Practical, elegant and timeless.
What is your ideal outfit or uniform?
Evanne: A Hanes white T-Shirt or white button up. Khaite Vivian jeans or vintage Levi’s. Navy Adidas Gazelles. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started to invest more in handbags and jewelry, so I can mix them with comfortable basics and still look like an adult. I wear my Mizuki cuff a lot, and a ring from my great grandmother that I never take off.
Viktorija: My uniform for Fall & Winter is Khaite jeans (Wendell & Vanessa are my favorites), sweaters, paired back to a good blazer or coat and Manolos. For summer, I love experimenting and wearing more elegant and romantic dresses, skirts, paired back to easy sandals that could be switched off for Manolos in the evening. Today I’m wearing my favorite slip dress from Refine.
I like mixing high and low, it always creates a perfect balance between smart and casual. In terms of jewelry, I wear the same pieces every day: ring that I got from my mother, wedding band, engagement ring, necklace that I got from my husband and earrings that I got from my best friend.
Where do you like to shop?
Evanne: I do almost all of my shopping online. MatchesFashion.com, Net-A-Porter, TheRealReal… For proper vintage, I still like going back to Toronto (where I’m from) for the good stuff. A few must shop Toronto spots: Tambourine in Roncesvalles, Chosen Vintage and Penny Arcade on Dundas.
Viktorija: Online, as I know exactly what I want that season and which brands fit my body. Net-A-Porter, Moda Operandi and The RealReal are my go to’s!
Who are your style icons?
Evanne: To be honest, most of my style icons are fictional characters from 90’s movies…
Meg Ryan in French Kiss.
Whoopi Goldberg in Boys on the Side.
Drew Barrymore in Mad Love.
Uma Thurman in The Truth About Cats and Dogs.
In the real world…
Tonne Goodman, her style is so perfectly simple.
Patti Smith. She wears everything into the ground in the best way possible.
Viktorija: Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy for her grace, ease and sense of humor.
What’s the most recent thing that has influenced your style?
Evanne: The weather is really steering the ship at this point. For a while it was non-stop rain and I was trying to get creative with bucket hats because I hate to carry an umbrella. Now it’s full on New York summer so I just bought an easy Matteau tiered dress that I can layer with a cardigan when I’m in and out of the A/C.
Viktorija: I recently watched ‘Pretty Woman’ – it was definitely a sign of approval that building an elegant feminine wardrobe never goes out of style.
