The Tie’s the Limit

There is something so instantly chic and put together about a waist tie.
Don’t get me wrong, you’ll often see me in a boxy sack of a thing, but sometimes it’s really nice to accentuate the waist and bring a bit of femininity to your look, à la Jackie O in the 70’s or Drew Barrymore in the 90’s. If you don’t have a tie, take one off of another jacket, use a scarf, or even a sweater. It’s fun to mix textures and colors like Taylor. It sounds silly, but your “tying style” can change the look completely. All of a sudden there are so many options…The casual one loop, impeccable bow, side tie… the tie’s the limit!

Funny how about a year or two ago, the advice (not necessarily here) was to get rid of the self-tie that came with a jacket or dress and replace it with a leather belt.
I had the coolest jacket that tied, kimono-like. Miss it.
I totally feel you. I’ve thrown out many things that I should have held on to! Trends come and go and I know now to keep everything I love, even if it may be out of fashion at the moment… xx
I love this trend and the first image is perfect!!

Passionnant !
Great photos! ;)

Great look to really accentuate your figure. Love the color of the first jacket and the white just looks super chic.

Fashion is always working in cycle..so we are back to more feminine shapes..and talking feminine …waist is a very important part ..especially that most of the girls lost their waist and have more straight body..i think it’s because of the gym..i have noticed new gym lessons that are using the hula hoop …like my mother used to do to get a nice waist…

I’m like you. I love a loose outfit. But when you are in doubt, belt it, tie it, band it up and you look so lady like, haha!
Thanks for the summer reminder.

Totally agree!

I love synching clothes into the waist! I’ve always been some what obsess with having a small waist and an hourglass shape. low waisted pants were a nightmare as they ruined my waist definition.
The colors mix of the first look is just what I NEED to wear right now, with the yellow slippers! Summer feeling is here! http://www.fashionparadoxes.com/2016/05/07/what-i-want-to-wear-at-the-moment/
Wow!!!! love it <3

I was unaware that this had gone out of style and was now back in style. Sometimes it is useful to be behind the trends.

Love the tie waisted outfits. I am extremely small myself and usually I distant from the baggy outfits.
