Take Me To Church
9 years ago by
Maybe it was London, but I love my new Church loafers. They’re kind of perfect, no? Simple and classic in the most obvious of ways.
I love androgynous pieces, and a loafer may be the ultimate in hybrid dressing: Audrey Hepburn meets Alain Delon. I’m already wearing them as we transition into spring with socks (yes, white ones even!). But really I’m looking forward to wearing them with minis and jean shorts…. my ideal way of dressing up casual wears. Plus, Church’s are so beautiful – made in Italy with exquisite craftsmanship, they’ll last for years… or at least until I stumble upon a new color that’s feigning for my attention. (ok okay, I’ve already got my eye on some super red ones … dreamy!)
What’s your go-to transition or forever and ever shoe??
Shoes, Church’s.
I like Church shoes but never actually got a pair. My freind’s husband is a collector- he owns more pairs than her! I’m coveting Gucci snakeskin loafers myself…

Your loafers look great. I used to love Church’s but lately I bought some shoes and they didn’t last at all , so the quality is not as good as it used to be. I hope you will have better luck with yours.
I love my church’s- I’ve got the bird wood brogues. I always thought they were hand made in Notingham though. I love that each shoe is individually numbered.
Lovely loafers!
My handful of go-to shoes for all seasons (in generally mild-wintered and searingly hot Perth, Western Australia) are Church’s white Birdwood perforated brogues; Ink suede flat almond toe ankle boots in olive; flat, tan moccasins for summer; and tomato coloured Gucci horsebit flat loafers.
Oh, my, my, my — these bring back my high school days when I wore a very short kilt with my Bass Weejuns. I love these Brie. As my dad would say, “Wear them in good health.”
I love loafers. But prefer a colorful pair. I own a pair or bright pink loafers from Clarkes. I adore them and wear all the time

I love these shoes!!

They look nice, but too many school memories for me, prefer grown up shoes now.
Love them too. I’m also a fan of Ludwig Reiter (vienna), also craftmanship.
Lovely shoes, but that’s not what feigning means!
I love Churches too but unfortunately they do not love me! The fit is long & narrow and my feet are wide!!! My husband has several pairs (including some Girls ones because his feet are small (size 6 & narrow!) Churches are now owned by the Prada group so the Men’s are still made in Nottingham but the Ladies ones are made in Italy. He feels that the making & quality are different.
yea, they’re so cute!

i wore loafers all through high school as part of a uniform so I never wore them when I had a choice about it. My go to favorites are my Jil Sander black oxfords. However I have seen some Stella McCartney loafers that could make me re-think my loafer aversion.

I have a pair by Bass but I don’t wear them so often… I’d love to nail an outfit featuring them though…

A porter avec un short Adadas et ses poils d´hiver non rasés pour un effet optimal.
I tried them on but found the shape not quite perfect. I prefer a higher vamp as well. Their double buckles were nice but couldn’t find my size.
Pour moi, rien ne remplace une Weston !!! Nothing like Weston !!!!
Lovely shoes ;))

Oh, loafers… they are perfect. The tomboy version of ballerinas. Which I also love. But I have to say (sadly because I’m on my 30s) that my forever and ever shoes have to be my white Converse.
But I do wear my navy loafers and my leo print ballerinas a lot!! I’m not a lost case! (I hope…)

Oxford shoes. Grey suede ones are my favourites, but I own black and camel leather ones as well. Timeless and sophisticated :-)
J’adore les mocassins, derbies, desert boots et cela depuis mes annees de college. J’en porte encore lorsque l’hiver floridien le permet !
I’m trying to decide which shoes to bring to Portugal this summer – maybe a pair of these! Very Audrey.
Warm Regards,
Alexandra
