San Giorgio
10 years ago by
Here are a few photos of the hotel where I spent my Mykonos week, the San Giorgio. I loved it. It’s sublime and without showing off, exactly what I like. The staff is adorable and there a little sea access where we spent hours.
You can be lazy there for a whole day without being bored, going from the restaurant to the sea. I would probably go back there, but I think I should mention that even if all the rooms have adorable terrasses, most of them are pretty small (except for the suites, of course – those are wonderful) and the bathrooms are pretty… minimal.
Another important thing to know if you’re going there – the hotel is located near a few of the most important clubs of the island, so in the evening, depending on the wind, you could find yourself falling asleep to the rhythm (very distant for sure, but I am crazy sensitive so I thought I should mention it) of techno music.
I still totally adored it, and came back with a thousand decor ideas… And an idea to adopt a cat, too ;)

I will put this beautiful address in my agenda ..love the clean decor the ambiance…but next time i think you should try Santorini..i am sure you would love it ..there are some really beautiful and very design hotels.. i myself don’t like to go back to the same place again ..unless it’s a family place ..like that you discover new places….
bisous bisous

Garance!
Thank you for your always inspiring and smile-inducing posts, Garance. This one just made my day :)
My friend and I stayed there last year and it has become one of my very favourite hotels in the world! It’s such a relaxed, free-spirited and welcoming vibe and the design is so fresh. We spent hours lying on (and jumping off) that jetty – and, like you, I came home inspired with so many decorating ideas!
Gorgeous hotel!

Il a l’air sympa cet hôtel, j’aimerais bien aller à Mykonos un jour!

Really wonderful. Just beautifully captured.
I don’t think I can handle the envy I’m feeling right now. ;)
So pretty…

Beautiful, and I wish I lived somewhere where my white stones and white walls didn’t go slightly green with damp! It looks gorgeous and more than ample – and you can never have too many cats!

J´aime bien cet hotel.
it is a wonderful hotel, indeed!
Superbe !!

Thank you for another excellent recommendation Garance, I trust that your heart and you are doing well with the recent changes in your life . You must adopt a cat – perhaps two , they/it will bring you joy, comfort and softness x
Beautiful place, it seems to be very peaceful..
Happy to see my homeland being praised like that, Garance! Having spent every summer until now in the Aegean islands, just recently in my twenties I’ve come to appreciate the very special aesthetics and the unique feeling of this place! Hope u had a nice vacation!
This is so beautiful, peaceful, and the sky is so blue ! I am feeling on holiday just looking at those pictures… unfortunately I am not, and I am in Paris where the weather is crappy, but still, this is lovely ! Greece is definitely on the top of my list for next summer !

Seeing your pictures of Greece have really inspired me to make a trip there …… might just happen sooner rather than later as well!
My husband I went there last year and I must agree…I will go back ANY TIME!! It was such a relaxing and beautiful experience! It is definitely ons of my favourite hotels – no pretense but still very luxurious! (unfortunately none of my clothes fit after my sublime Mykonos holiday!)
The cat lives the life! Viva la cat!
Oh you had me at the first photo – but that CAT at the end! Too utterly adorable! I can just imagine the first time it jumped into a swinging chair too… I think cats are ideal for apartment living – just buy a lint roller.
I have been put off Greece by the party vibe but your snaps make me want to go!
I love Mykonos. Next time I’m there I’ll check this hotel out. We stayed at Ftelia Bay hotel which is also gorgeous.

Now that’s the true gypset spirit! And it’s funny, I just discovered the San Giorgio last week
It brought me some warm memories of KOS island which I visited this year…
The blue tones of the sea with the mixture of the hot wind.
And now with the prefall atmosphere comming up so quickly it feels even better to remember the charm of Greece. I hope to return there some time.
Greetings from the polish seaside :)

So beautiful, so inspiring!

I have stayed there twice in the past. Years ago (7&15). It was still nice then but it looks amazing now!
I have to go back!!
(next year dont just return to Mykonos…)
This is beautiful, but I still want to go to Corsica more than anywhere else!
This looks pristine and perfect! I’m so happy to find this post today. I’ve just been invited, as a travel blogger, to a weeks stay in Greece. I can hardly wait. Fabulous space and images.
Bon voyage!
