Quelle élégance! J’adore le détail des manches de la chemise portées longues, et qui dépassent de la veste. J’aimerais lui ressembler dans quelques années.
Wow, I love this picture. Love the particular pattern of the jacket and the pairing with the white blouse and black trousers is so chic, classy and masculine at the same time: Love love love!
Je te souhaite une bonne nuit!
bisous
this is the perfect nonchalant look that I love, so effortless, so chic. love the way she wore the jacket, it really made the whole look much more interesting.
gosh anyone know where she got those pants. We can just see a bit of them but they look totally awesome and though the probably cost the moon, sun and stars…… maybeeeeee….
Just a minor quibble perhaps but I think the wonderful masculinity of this look would be impeccable without the bag. Any bag.
(I can see why you have cropped the photo just at that point…not to hide the trousers but to obscure most of the bag which might prove to be too distractingly feminine in the overall masculinity? In any case, this is ravishing…)
Thank you Garance for featuring Maria Luisa.
She has always been a huge inspiration and when she had her shop decades ago in the Rue Cambon some of the Latino gang in Paris used to go and hang out in the shop at the end of a long day and she would show us all the new designers she had discovered and made us try on their clothes.
She has such an eye and such vision ! she knows exactly what you don’t know that you want until you try it on !
I used to go in there for a chat and a glass of wine on my way back from WH Smith just across the road and 2 hours later would end with 2 huge shopping bags and 6 months of debt , but I think of her every day because those pieces are classics that I will always wear and still do.
Maria Luisa does not follow fashion, she has so much style that she makes fashion.
Maria Luisa is responsible for putting many designers on the map , she was the first to buy Sybilla , Margiela, Dries Van Noten , Tomas Maier’s to name but a few.
I read your blog daily and I love it but I’d like to see more women over 35 like this woman. I’m 47 and it I always appreciate street style when it’s truly diverse. Now, if you could just start shooting some women in their 60s, 70s, and 80s! They are out there. I see them all the time.
Now, THIS is chic in Paris. This beautiful woman of a certain age personifies for me exactly what chic REALLY means. The not-too-long hair, the red lipstick on a fresh face, the classic items of clothing without overdoing the jewellery, and the simplest of belts… really a breath of fresh. Thank you, Garance for posting this.

Years before I ever realized that I would actually end up working for her, Garance was my introduction to a certain kind of fashion. At the time, she...
Until recently, I was a hard-core bronzer fanatic, it was my hero product in my beauty routine since high school. I tried every version under the sun...
Ahhhh the bun!! As you know, in my past hair life I was totally a top knot girl. But there is something about the low chignon that I also really love....
