The other day, a lot of you asked me where the bag in my illustration came from.
I don’t know how any of you put together that I was inspired by a real bag (Seriously ? You guys are goooooood!) but… Here we go !
The simplicity and coolitude of this bag is to die for. I’ve been wearing it for a week and everyone has been asking where I got it – even with a drawing! :)
The leather is pretty rigid so it doesn’t lose its shape. The inside is red and sublime (It’s a sort of double face leather) and honestly, I’m just so crazy about it I’ve lost all critical abilities.
And on top of that, the brand, Mansur Gavriel, is the brain-child of two friends who live in New York, just two gals like you and me. I love that. I think I’ll get a coffee date on the calendar with them one of these days, no ?…

I love this simplicity. I think it is very chic, especially given the apparent quality of this leather. I think an overly flamboyant bucket bag can run the risk of looking tacky. The vintage style of bucket needs a modern take.
I love the little glimpse of color, it is making me think of a demure 19th century skirt with a bright red petticoat underneath, like the classic can-can skirt. Great shape, too.

The leather on the bag is seriously… sensual. Can I say that? Haha. The peek of red showing from underneath kind of reminds me of the CL pumps. Sure, it is fashion banality by now but on this bag it is just so sexy!! Modern and cool bag with a vintage-inspired design.

Difficile d’innover dans la mode… Ca me rappelle les sacs à main des années 80, mon adolescence. Je ne suis plus friande de ce genre de sac maintenant, mais j’avoue que cette année j’ai pris le sac à dos Wang en vert et en noir, beau, doux (la douceur du cuir me laisse sans voix), bien fait et pratique quand on est toujours en vadrouille avec son chien (mon cas). Le revival des années 90 avec fun et classe!! :))

Il est très beau. La touche rouge est parfaite.
Même s’il est un peu “daté” il est superbe. J’avais un Sylvain Lefèbvre dans les années 80, exactement comme ça :) La doublure qui faisait office de fermeture à soufflet était en nylon rouge.
Mon ado de 15 ans me l’a piqué :)

Il est beau mais pas pour moi, je n’aime pas les sacs qui n’ont pas une fermeture éclair, avec ce style de sac il faut faire attention de ne rien se faire voler…

J’adore ! Ca a l’air d’être de belle facture, et le prix est bien plus réaliste que les it-bags du moment. En allant sur NaP il y a quelques jours, j’ai craqué sur les sacs bourses de Wendy Nichol, ils avaient un air familier, en fait c’est toi qui nous les avais présenté… (trop forte Garance). Mais ne sont-ils pas un peu petits ? Celui-ci est parfait…

J’ai un sac Athé – Vanessa Bruno – collection actuelle qui ressemble beaucoup à celui-ci (il est en daim par contre…)! La ligne est très belle et épurée, un côté vintage chic très sympa.

Je n’aime pas particulièrement le modèle présenté mais la qualité du cuir bicolore m’a intrigué.
En effet, d’autres modèles dans d’autres couleurs sont à tomber sur le site mais pas de vente en ligne !!!

La forme n’a rien de révolutionnaire, on dirait un Longchamp vintage, et comme avec tous les sacs de cette forme, on fouille pour retrouver ses affaires…
Néanmoins, la qualité du cuir bicolore font que c’est une belle pièce !
Ah oui bravo ! Et comment tu fais pour gérer tes affaires dans un sac seau ? Avec des pochettes thématiques ?
Et on dirait aussi que le modèle chic de ton illustration s’inspire de ta soeur quand elle fait la moue… ;))
Ce n’est pas le genre de sac sur lequel je craquerais normalement, mais je le trouve vraiment très beau,. L’intérieur en cuir rouge lui donne vraiment de l’allure.

It’s a sleek design and quite elegant but the strap is WAY too narrow and would end up cutting into my shoulder … I carry quite a bit in my bags! It looks so fetching in your photograph! X Alison
I love the sleek lines of this design so much… and I agree with you on the too-skinny shoulder strap – I like one to one and a one and half inches wide for all my shoulder straps… but then the bag loses its delicacy :-(

Apres tant d’annees, j’aime toujours mon Noe epi noir. Je suis une inconditionnelle de cette forme de sacs qui correspond a mon style.
Celui de la photo se distingue par sa doublure rouge. Le rouge et le noir…….
Il est trop beau !!!! Surtout avec le rouge à l’intérieur ! Les sacs à la verticale comme ça m’énervent un peu parce que tout s’accumule dans le fond mais lui, il est juste vraiment trop beau !!!! J’adore ! Le rouge et le noir vont tellement bien ensemble !

That’s a beautiful bag, G! I have a black, bucket leather bag as well and I use it all the time, it’s actually my favorite bag and I got it from a flea market.

La perfection, c’est lorsqu’il n’y a plus rien à enlever. Cet adage pourrait presque s’appliquer à ce sac que je trouve magnifique, mais que je n’achèterai pas, même si je suis tous les jours tentée par le retour des sacs seaux.
J’ai eu ma période fin 80-début 90: Longchamp, Pourchet et autres (mais pas Vuitton, hors de mes moyens), je les ai conservés, bien rembourrés, bien emballés. mais depuis que j’ai littéralement dû en vider complètement un sur un banc public pour retrouver une clef tout au fond, la honte au front, je me suis dit, plus jamais, même avec des pochettes structurées. Parce que la vérité, c’est que même avec les pochettes, il y a toujours une fois où je suis pressée/distraite/impatiente et où je me trompe de pochettte, ou bien l’objet est simplement jeté au fond du sac parce que le tram arrive en même temps.
J’ai constaté que les porté-main, avec une option bandoulière, supportent mieux mon “chenit”.
Et j’oubliais, un sac sans une bonne fermeture, éclair ou fermoir tournant, inconcevable dans les transports publics.
Mais pour Montauk, ce sera parfait… Je sais, il y a d’autres phares plus beaux que Montauk. Mais c’est l’endroit le plus près et le plus dépaysant de NYC que je connaisse.

I wish I could be careful enough to manage to keep all my things inside from falling out when my bag goes upside down in my hurry.
On the other hand – maybe putting my things inside a large zippered pouch and then putting that pouch into that sublime bag would do the trick!
Yes! I just got one of the totes (cammello/azzurro – I love it) and that’s exactly what I did. Two small pouches – one for keys and phone, one for extras. I actually feel a lot more organized now somehow.
