Double Denim

I really love double denim – it can be tricky to pull off, but it looks great when it’s done right.
For me, it’s all about making sure the washes of denim are just different enough to break up the look, and also how you style it with contrasting fabrics and accessories. Chloe’s outfit has so many great ideas for how to wear double denim for spring… The cropped jean (with that super cool hem) is so chic with the open toe heel…

Perso, j’aime beaucoup le double denim. Je trouve ça joli quand les deux pièces (haut et bas) sont soit de la même teinte ou au contraire, de deux teintes différentes mais qu’il y ait une pièce de couleur brute et une autre délavée pour que ça passe bien!
Comme tu le dis, ça ne passe pas toujours bien!!!!

I love everything EXCEPT for the jeans hem…. and that, Neada, might be our little generation gap. The ragged hem reminds me too much of the baggy overalls I wore as a teen with shredded hems that dragged in the mud on a rainy day.
I do love the pockets and waistband on the top half of the jeans. And the shirt, the coat and her lovely hair and sunglasses. Wish I could see more of the bag.

As long as Jeans looks good on you you ca wear it total look….i prefer that it’s almost the same color ..it looks more like one piece..when the 2 blue are too different i don’t see the harmony…

D’ordinaire, je ne suis pas grande amatrice du look total denim. Je le trouve trop uniforme, et il ne met généralement pas spécialement en valeur. Mais pour le coup, tu m’as vraiment réconciliée! Cette tenue est extra, enfin on est habitué maintenant ;)

I totally agree! I love to double up on denim, especially when they are slightly different shades of blue. You can never go wrong with a nice denim jacket.
I love everything in this Look. I sometimes go double denim but with more contrasting washes, however, this look is way better! Real pro!

Funny you should mention…
I’m actually wearing dark blue, straight-leg jeans and a fitted blue-grey chambray shirt (denim style) today. I’ve paired this with grey T-strap square-heel pumps, my beloved raspberry-colored gum-T Dior earrings, colorful Gas bangles and a coral-pink Tara Jarmon coat.
I wondered about the double denim when I got dressed this morning, but as I wasn’t very awake and in a hurry, I threw caution to the wind.
