This morning, I want to say…
1 – Friends forever !!!
I met up with Tine and Luisa in New York last week and they showed me their new bag collection (you’ll see more in the next Pardon My French that should be ready by Wednesday)(If everything goes well). Their bags only get more beautiful and I love their friendship, how they finish each other’s sentences, always support one another, and just love, love, love each other.
2 – Style forever !!!
These girls have a real je-ne-sais-quoi, and their style is a true mix. Vintage, name-brands, up-and-coming, they swap clothes, shop their mother’s closet, shop their boyfriends’ closets, and have fun with everything and don’t take it too seriously.
Which is exactly the type of fashion I want to talk about on this blog, even if I like a wide range of styles…
When I see a photo (okay, yeah, two photos) like that it always hits me that this is what I want to talk about.
3 – Red lipstick forever !!!
I love this red on Tine and this pink on Luisa, and even more so because their faces have barely any makeup except for this touch of color.
By the way, red is making a comeback on my lips. I have a pink one from Bobbi Brown that I’m crazy about and a red from Clinique that’s sublime… Between the two though, my heart could never decide.
Here’s what I’m wondering, what about you? Red or pink?

La brune / la blonde, le rouge / le rose, les yeux bleus/ les yeux marrons… A première vue elles s’opposent et puis en y regardant de plus près on voit qu’elles partagent la même palette de couleurs en l’interprétant de façon différente ! Belle image de l’amitié : deux entités différentes qui ont en commun les mêmes centres d’intérêt !

Si je pouvais, je m’octroierais ces deux tenues tout de suite. Elles ont tout de bon : feninines, pas engoncees et sympas. Les “brulures” du 2eme manteau : geniales !
Quant au lipstick : je prefere le rose, n’ayant jamais eu le cran d’essayer le rouge.
Hello Garance!! Cette photo me parle beaucoup aussi; c’est tellement inspirant la liberté de style!! Dernièrement j’ai essayé (ou du moins me suis remise à essayer) le rouge carmin si cher à notre coeur. Pourtant j’ai toujours un frein à le porter; je déteste quand il déborde ou marque nos rides. Il faut que tout soit parfait et malheureusement je ne suis pas une fille “control freak”. Pourtant dernièrement je me suis laissée maquiller par une démonstratrice Estée Lauder; en voyant mon red sourire, j’ai finalement décidé qu’il était le meilleur signe de ma gourmandise quotidienne!

Red and pink! Found a perfect classic red from organic brand Zuii, it’s matt and stays on forever and it matches perfectly with my light pink glasses and sheer rose pink lipstick I wear with my brown tortoise glasses. I also like Mandarin coral that goes with both glasses. Next I want to find darker, more flashy pink like Luisa’s maybe just a little more rosy. Love wearing lipstick and matching the shades of them to my frames, so many different looks.
Beautiful outfits they are wearing, let’s start with that! Love their coats! About the lipsticks. I prefer pink because it looks better with my skin tone but red is timeless and so beautiful on the right person! xx

Tu as parfaitement raison, pour moi aussi le style doit être un parfait mélange de vêtement cool et de vêtement chic, de vintage, de chose griffée et de petite marque (des silhouettes pour la vraie vie, quoi !). J’ai souvent trois tubes de rouges que j’utilise, plus en fonction de mon humeur que de mes tenues . Tous des Diorific – les meilleurs – et lorsque je n’ose pas le rouge rouge et que j’hésite entre le bois de rose, qui est le plus discret des trois, et un rouge plus framboise, je les superpose tous les deux… Le dilemme est ainsi résolu.

Moi je préfère le rouge, c’est plus élégant, plus sexy.
I prefer Bobbi Brown Brownie for every day,and Revlon Really Red for days I feel feisty. ;-) I do prime my lips well before applying my red.
1. Brush lips with your toothbrush. Yep, it works to eliminate dry skin.
2. Apply a bit of concealer to lips.
3. Line lips with Bobbi Brown red lip pencil,and then fill in lips with pencil.
4. Apply lipstick
5. Blot with tissue
6. Apply color again,and blot again.
7. Don’t forget to check teeth for red ;-)
Also,it really depends on your skin tone to determine the best red for you. I’m brunette/red highlights with fair to light skin tone. Blue toned reds look hard on me.
Looking forward to more. The styles of these coats are so dissimilar that I can’t wait to learn about how these two friends function as a team.

Lipstick wise, I say both red and pink! For my olive skin, gor brightness in any season at any time of the day – or night – I adore the strong vermillion of Nars’ Heat Wave and the super-intense magenta of By Terry’s Cherry Cherry. For a more subdued deep red, Ellis Faas deep blood red has my vote.
I apply and blot two or three times in the morning, then leave it alone for the rest of the day. A make-up artist once told me to pop my index finger just an inch into my mouth, close my mouth then draw my finger out to remove an excess lipstick that might migrate to my teeth – it works every time.
No need to re-apply bright, intense lipstick colour at night – the look of stained lips at night is very appealing to me. And, no foundation if possible… just a little deep bronze eyeliner smudged into my lash-line and the tiniest amount of very neutral peach-nude blusher – or none at all – and that’s my bright-lip face for the whole day. Easy and done in less than two minutes.

They seem to be a team. Love both colors and the pictures. There are two girls from Italy that have a blog and remind me in some ways of these girls. Fun, stylish, in the fashion world but non fashionistas, you should try to spot them in Milan. Don’t remember at all their names. XXX
AH, la question existentielle : rose ou rouge. Les deux. A vrai dire je suis plus fidèle au rouge “Cruella” de Nars mais un rose comme celui que Luisa porte pourquoi pas ! Ceci étant dit j’assume nettement plus le rouge que le rose : oui un rouge sang ou un bon bordeaux vaut mieux qu’un rose (je préfère le sortir pour les petits soirs d’été).
Ta définition de la mode est celle de l’authenticité : savoir affirmer qui je suis à travers mon style. Puis puiser partout , piquer dans tous les dressing,les magasins,les frips etc … est VRAISEMBLABLEMENT la chose que j’aime le plus dans ce “processus” qu’est la mode.
