Now that I’ve FINALLY taken an interest in figuring out how to decorate my apartment, I’m taking an extra hard look to see how my friends decorate theirs.
Here’s a little tour of my friend Andi Potamkin’s place. She’s an actress, has a really cool apartment and we had the nicest afternoon together. Remind me to tell you about her man, who’s a hairstylist and totally fantastic. So many superlatives and so much fabulousness!

Sinon, cet appartement est magnifique
J’adore la luminosité de cet appartement, très important la lumière dans un appart !! de grandes baies vitrées …je ne conçois pas de vivre dans un appart sombre, ajoutant à cela cette magnifique vue, et pour rien gâcher la déco est vraiment très bien étudié! big crush sur le tapis persan :) perso j’ai emménagé dans un nouvel appart’ il y a 4 mois, je passe des heures sur le site déco de Martha Stewart histoire de glaner quelques idées :-)
M – Je ne connais pas les fauteuils Lalanne (suis nulle en déco, mais je vais apprendre !)

Ah, le style des lofts new-yorkais plus la vue, ç’est déjà de la déco. J’ai hâte de voir ta déco Garance, je me rappelle ENCORE du lampadaire des puces.
Garance …viens à la maison à mon 22eme étage et tu verras ce n’est not bad non plus ;) (de la tour eiffel à la défense)
Euh, Garance, le liquide jaune dans des grands verres… C’est ça ce que tu appelles du café ?!
Moi, j’aimerais surtout savoir d’où viennent ses fabuleusement magnifiques bagues !

ah ça me donne envie…C’est vrai que j’ai souvent tendance à négliger la déco de mon appart car depuis quelques années je vogue d’appart en appart de manière “provisoire”, j’ai jamais trouvé un appart qui me plaisait vraiment et dans lequel j’aurais envie de rester longtemps…alors bon, pour le prochain, j’attendrais de trouver la perle rare…

J’aime beaucoup visiter les univers personnels. J’aime parce que même si je ne me reconnais pas trop dans cette déco, j’explore une personnalité. Et ça, j’adore !!C’est super enrichissant. Tes photos sont vraiment chouettes, on sent la chaleur du lieu, et le côté cosy et naturel de la maitresse de maison. C’est Zen piqué de fantaisie. J’aime beaucoup ! Et cette vue … ah la la, que dire ? cette vue … je l’aime !

La vue est époustouflante mais par dessus les (ravissants) détails je retiens la lumière et l’espace (les vrais luxes selon moi pour un intérieur)
c’est beau…
J’aime beaucoup les touches colorées et le côté fauteuils poufs avec des poils, les tapis ..
c’est bien joli tout ça
J’adore quand tu parles de déco et photographies des apparts, surtout s’ils sont toujours aussi beaux et inspirants que celui-ci. Perso je préfère la déco à la mode, et oui si je dois choisir entre la paire de chaussures de mes rêves ou le canapé de mes rêves…je choisis le canapé!

Lovely apartment. And wine ain’t a bad thing either…The most important thing, I think,when you decorate a new home is (and I don’t know if anyone’s written anything about it before in this post, since I unfortunately understand VERY little french…all I understand are declarations of love and rude suggestions, but that’s me…) is not to buy everything at once. Of course, things like sofas and beds…but be careful not to make your home look like something from the IKEA catalogue, or a posh interior shop for that matter…a flat needs to be lived in, and things need to feel RIGHT, otherwise you’ll just end up throwing things away all the time, and that’s not god.Not for the planet, not for the flat, and not for you either. ;)

I find that looking at other people’s houses can be so informative and inspiring.
I love seeing how they live how the decor reflects the person that they are.
When you enter someone else’s space you somehow get more insight into how you live, about the when you inhabit your space.

Très beau le mur mauve avec canap bleu et touche floutée orange du bouquet. Ne pas être tenté d’assortir pile poil toutes les teintes c’est une bonne solution, mais assez difficile à réussir.
