On Our Way Home

I’m writing this while sitting on the floor of the airport in Santiago as I travel back from our Art of Self Discovery retreat. I’m waiting for a four hour flight to take me to Sao Paulo, where I will wait for a nine hour flight to take me home, to New York City.

In Her Words: Janell on Short Hair

I’ve always had a fascination with short hair despite the context of “long hair makes you pretty” that young girls are often force-fed. I was trying to think of a funny way to introduce this sweater story to you guys but honestly, I think the amount of food I consumed over Thanksgiving break has actually also consumed my brain. Ok, that’s probably dramatic, but what can I say about sweaters that you don’t already know? When winter approaches, all I want to do is bundle up in a cozy knit. Blouses and shirts get pushed to the back of the closet, neck and arms say goodbye until spring because in New York it’s officially sweater weather.

In Her Words: Christine Muhlke on Tea and Belonging

How is it that my favorite holiday tradition started as a joke? Here’s the setup: All the way back in 2001, I wrote an essay for the men’s magazine Details about how brutal women could be to one another (a.k.a.,...
