A Beauty Minute With Patty Lu
9 years ago by
Morning: First things first, I splash some water on my face and let it do the waking up. I have pale and sensitive skin, so I like to keep it simple and try to stay away from anything too harsh. I got a tip from a fellow bubble girl a few years ago and added Suki Concentrated Strengthening Toner to my routine, on days when my face feels imbalanced. It’s a refreshing spray with organic ingredients, including anti-oxidizing olive leaf and strengthening shiitake mushroom.
Then I alternate between my very basic CeraVe day moisturizer or a luxurious dab of La Prairie day cream with sunscreen. It comes with a fancy price, so I make the most of each dollop by rubbing in a drop of water to spread it out. I remember when my friend introduced me to La Prairie. It was my first time in the South of France and it was as if she scooped it right out of the Mediterranean. The scent reminds me of caftans and cabanas.
On days that call for a little makeup, I brush on a light layer of Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35. It’s fragrance-free and doesn’t feel heavy. My thin hair has a mind of its own, so the best I can do is rub a drop of Aesop Shine on the ends and, if necessary, wrangle any baby hairs with Sumo Tech. A little brow maintenance, a NARS Orgasm, and I’m out the door.
Day: The only things I might carry with me are YSL Touche Éclat, NARS Heat Wave lipstick, and John Masters Organics Lip Calm.
Night: At the end of the day, I get a satisfying cleanse with Bioderma Crealine. I use JASÖN Apricot Scrubble to exfoliate and, finally, apply Aesop’s Primrose Facial Hydrating Cream before climbing into bed.

I love the idea of simplicity but pretty much every Beauty Minute post I have read save one is basically “yeah I don’t wear a lot of makeup maybe a smudge of lipstick or whatever if I need to be fancy” can we see one with a beautiful girl who maybe doesn’t have basically perfect skin?
I TOTALLY agree with you! Even I loving this part of blog is so annoying the fact that basically all the girls say that they don’t use a lot of make up and bla bla bla. I wanted to see a girl with really dark circles and pimples saying what products work for them and another ones that really use make up
“C’est un spray rafraîchissant à base d’ingrédients bio, comme la feuille d’olivier antioxydante et le champignon shiitake qui booste les défenses”
Non mais les beauty minute, c’est toujours plus quoi.
Les shiitake, c’est tres bon en risotto mais je pense qu’on pourrait tous se détendre du coussinet et arreter de se les tartiner sur la face non?
What an amazing beauty rut, I could easily borrow some of her tips!

She looks like nice.
Her hair doesn’t look thin though – maybe for Asian standards, I don’t know. Maybe she is talking about the quantity of hair, but in terms of quality it doesn’t look very fine.
As someone with very thin, very fine hair (and not even lots of it), I have to deal with that problem on an entirely different level.
a “bubble girl”? What’s that?
Love Smashbox products!

What a beauty!. Love her routine, especially how she associates the smell of La Prairie w/a certain space + time. It makes a product all the more lovely to use when you do. Lovely gilet too. A x
