Who doesn’t want a good hair day? Good hair days make you feel like Mary Tyler Moore dancing through the streets of Minneappolis in the opening montage of The Mary Tyler Moore Show. We all watched Garance’s hair journey from long to short to long to short. And as you can see here… she’s back to long!

We fell in love with the founded in France but based in New York hair care company, Prose, at Garance’s recommendation for many reasons (which we’ll get to) but the top of the list is just the damn good hair it gives you day in and day out. Ah the French just get it…

Prose: Personalized Hair Care For All

First reason we love Prose: The whole line is customized to your specific hair.

And by “customized” we don’t mean you simply choose between curly, wavy, or straight. Instead when signing up you go through a lengthy (but totally manageable) questionnaire all in regards to your hair and scalp health.

We were even caught off guard by some of the questions — such as how much of your scalp is shown when your hair is parted down the middle? This apparently tells you about your hair density.

The customization process even includes the scent profile you can choose, which ranges from floral to citrus to woodsy.

And then, each product is made to order! The no waste dream!

Prose: Personalized Hair Care For All

Since I have decided to grow my hair as long as possible, I have used Prose. I have only cut my hair twice last year and it still looks beautiful and truly nourished from the inside.

I love that the shampoo is so effective that I don’t need to use much of it. Just one pump and my hair feels clean and revitalized.

Second reason we love Prose: Their transparency.

While all their products are cruelty-free and never contain parabens, mineral oils, sulfates, dyes, or GMOs, you can further choose your product to be vegan, gluten-free, silicon free, or any combination of the aforementioned.

We were really floored when, at the end of our online consultation, our consultation results included a page that listed the natural active ingredients that would be included in our specific formula that would help our hair concerns.

Examples include fermented rice water to help with smoothing, apple cider vinegar and caviar lime act as a shine activator, while vegetable oil is a conditioning agent.

The oil is probably one of my favorite products and not only because it gives the perfect weight and shine to my hair – but also because the natural almond oil scent is absolutely delightful.

Third reason we love Prose: They care about the details.

Not only do your products come with your name on them (who doesn’t love a monogram?!) but you can give feedback on the specific formula and how your hair is reacting to it and the in-house chemists will change the formula for your next bottle based on feedback.

You can tinker away as needed till you discover your dream hair — or you may just hit it out of the park on your first try — à la Garance!

The last reason we love Prose?

That chic packaging just looks sooooo good all lined up in our showers.

  • Just an FYI on a detail you mention – the Mary Tyler Moore show was definitely set in Minneapolis, not New York.

FYI — Mary Tyler Moore was dancing through the streets of Minneapolis, MN, in that opening TV show segment.

  • I have followed Garance’s hair journey throughout the years from long to short, wavy or curly and I have to admit it really looks amazing.
Apparently the French don’t know it all (I am one…) so I’m going straight to the site to have a look because I am planning on growing my hair as much as I can.

  • Tres belle ! You look better than ever, Garance. Great to see you. :)

What is missing? A product to hold the shampooed and conditioned hair like mousse, gel, etc. I have tried so many and I don’t think much of them. I sleep on a Blissy silk pillow and my hair looks terrible the second day.
