So happy and so lucky to get to spend a little moment at Costanza Pascolato’s before leaving Sao Paulo!
Not only does she have an amazing allure, she also has a lifestyle and a sense of humor that is incredibly inspiring. One day I’ll have to tell you about some chosen moments of our conversations, because they are precious – but in the meantime, here are her essentials!
I am sure that after you’ve read it you’ll love her as much as I do!
My Top: I wear a lot of perfect cotton t-shirts, like The Row and Alexander Wang. I also like very light cashmere from Balenciaga, Helmut Lang and 10 Corso Como. And Osklen from Brasil.
My Bottom: I always wear pants nowadays. I always wear them short because I have fine ankles that I like to show! I love Isabel Marant, I have two brilliant ones from Joseph and Miu Miu.
My Jeans: J.Crew. I admire the perfect cut of their basics with beautiful new colors. They seem to be in sync with the times, always!
My Evening: Miu Miu, almost all of the time. It is classic with that Italian culture of sophistication and Miuccia’s irony!
My Intimates: La Perla.
My Swimsuit: Lenny from Brazil. Classic, elegant and iconic beach wear.
My Coat: I always wear coats, heavy or very light because, at my age, they give polish to the look. Miu Miu, Prada, the new Belstaff and one of my favorites is an old Dolce and Gabbana. For blazers, I like Givenchy.
My favorite “fast-fashion” store: Cos and J.Crew. Usually I buy separates in summer. Simple, clean and well cut. And they do not have to last forever! Anyway, at my age (I am going to be 73), I do have to mix cheaper things with luxury ones to look good.
And sometimes I have some bespoke suits done for me in São Paulo by a young Chinese tailor. They are not expensive, and what a pleasure!
My Bag: Chanel, Celine, and Gucci. I prefer small ones. I cannot carry a heavy weight!
My Shoes: Valentino, Manolo Blahnik, Repetto flats and some extraordinary Prada’s. I have a very difficult time with heels nowadays–my feet hurt!
My Accessories: I love H.Stern jewels, most of all, the ones I designed with their creative people. I love Prada’s custom jewelry and Francesca Romana Diana (from Brazil). I love when they are a little over the top.
My Watch: A Rolex from the 1960’s.
My Glasses: I need glasses all the time. Love my Prada’s, Face Á Face (Paris), Oliver Peoples.
My Scent: Eau du Soir from Sisley.
My Brunette: I always go to Paris, to have the colour of my hair re-designed at every “turn” of style. My friend Rodolphe, from Coloré par Rodolphe, does it. We’ve known each other for 15 years now. Same with Delphine Courteille, she cuts my hair in Paris.
My Lip: MAC Spirit.
My Skin: La Mer cream and Clinique make up.
My Inspiration: Life! I was so lucky to be born in the first half of the twentieth century and have lived through the most incredible, fast changing times. I am lucky to still be so active and able to be fascinated by everything new. The good and bad, people and facts.
My Workout Routine/Sport: Pilates every day. I have been practicing for 12 years. Luckily, I have one of the best studios in Sao Paulo two blocks from my home, Centro de Ginástica Postural Angelica.

I met Constanza for the first time more than 10 years ago. Brazilian fashion was starting to make noise, I was covering Morumbi Fashion Week for E! Entertainment. She was always the most charming and sweet person to interview, always so fresh, open and unpretentious. Back then someone gave me her book O Essential as a gift which is a golden source of good advice about fashion and life. I always remember how exciting was to see her paying tribute to the young and outrageous Brazilian designers of the moment like Gloria Coelho, Reinaldo Lourenço o Alexandre Herchovitch.
Very good article. Though, it could be great to have other kind of profiles from time to time, let’say someone less wealthy, someone you happen to know who can’t afford Alexander Wang T-shirts. I can’t believe we can spend 300$ in a T-shirt. I know it is just money but…

But still I have to agree with one other comment. I too would be very glad if you could find a beauty on a more strict budget to interview her on essentials. I mean – in my city my income is like a little above the average but still I buy only Zara and H&M, and after the two kids no matter how successful is my job, I end up waiting for the sales at Zara and H&M. So you know… all of you up there in the fashion world play with best fashion pieces and inspire the rest of us. But I want to see how a woman charming enough for you to notice her deals with being cool and stylish in a harsher reality.
