Carolyn Jang recently hosted her first stateside getaway in the Catskills for her brand, Nylora. We love Nylora because it is centered around thoughtful design that transcends the line between activewear and ready-to-wear, to move with you and become a staple of your wardrobe. We asked Carolyn what she does to ground herself and find a bit of wellness in all the hustle of life.
What do you daily for your wellness?
Taking a long walk in the morning with my dog before I go into the office really helps to reduce my stress level and clear my head. I also try to remember to drink water as often as I can. For my skincare routine, I do one sheet mask per day (Dr.Jart and Abib are my favorites.) Consistency is the key!
What do you do weekly for your wellness?
I get a deep tissue massage every week. Deep tissue massage release the knots from stress and this helps to reduce pain and muscle tension.
What do you do monthly for your wellness?
I make sure to plan a fun night out with girlfriends and dinners with family. Surrounding yourself with a good support system is very important to stay grounded and true.
What do you do yearly for your wellness?
I love the feeling of being surrounded by trees and being in nature really helps with my mental health so I plan getaways when I can. Some of my past favorites include Ananti in Korea, Pelican hill CA , Montage in Laguna Beach, Sri Panwa Phuket and Muirim in Korea. Most recently we took friends of the brand to Piaule Catskill for a midweek reset. It was really meaningful for me as a founder and Creative Designer to have that time to connect with our community in a restorative setting — we hope to do it again soon.
How do you define wellness?
Being conscious of your own energy level. Finding things that makes you happy and having a self routine to maintain your mind and body in a good state.
