A Beauty Minute with Kate Butler

Morning: In the morning I usually do the school drop off so I will rinse my face with water and then put on some Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue tinted hydrating gel with SPF 30. It has great coverage but still feels light. Then I’ll put on a little Clé de Peau under eye concealer, some big sunglasses and I’m good to go. After morning drop off, and exercise if I’m lucky, I will shower and wash off any tinted sunscreen etc. and start fresh. Once out of the shower I put on Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line Reducing Concentrate and Kiehl’s Super Fluid sunscreen. The combination of the Vitamin C and sunscreen act like a primer which I like. Next is Estée Lauder Pefectionist foundation, then a dusting of Guerlain Terra Cotta bronzing powder. After that I will put a little bit of pink blush from Laura Mercier and shadow – at the moment I’m using Sephora brand. I curl my eyelashes with a Shu Uemura curler and apply mascara. I use Maybelline Lash Discovery, it has a super thin wand and get’s every lash. To finish I put Clé de Peau under eye concealer and then lipstick.
Day: I always carry Burt’s Bees Honey lip balm. Clé de Peau under eye concealer and a Shu Uemura cover crayon for any red or brown spots.
Night: At night it’s all about anti-aging. I wash my face with Kiehl’s Cucumber Herbal Conditioning Cleanser and use a wash cloth to make sure I get all the makeup off. The cloth also acts like an exfoliant. Then I put on Hyaluronic Acid Serum from Cosmedica, then Neocutis Micro Serum. At the end I will put some type of oil on…either Rose or Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery. Both smell
amazing and have that wonderful aromatherapy effect. Lastly I dab a little DNA anti-aging Eye Repair cream under my eyes and around my lips. I alternate nights with a Retin A cream and then a heavy moisturizer like Shea butter.

Good to see an over-35 face on here :) The natural but mature anti-aging space is kind of empty right now… as far as content.
Perhaps I’m missing something, but I would love it if you could add a brief description of who these women are to the description of their beauty routines.
