A Beauty Minute with Jesse

Morning: I take a warm shower, scrub my face with water, take off my under eye makeup with a little bit of lotion, I don’t really wash it off at night. I put on my papaya moisturizer from my Russian facialist. Then I put some makeup on. Cle de Peau concealer, Bobbi Brown eyeliner and mascara, I use Burt’s Bees on my lips, and some Clinique bronzer.
Day: I always carry Burt’s Bees and some SPF.
Night: I don’t do anything at night. I just leave it on.
Wow, what a minimalist! I literally cannot go to bed without washing my face because of the immense guilt I wind up feeling in the morning. This woman has beautiful skin and doesn’t wash off her makeup at night…I guess it goes to show that beauty is mostly due to genetics?
Yes of course we share the same opinion!
Wicked hair – I love her blunt waves.

I’m a big fan of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse. An oil that is not greasy, available online or any Parisian pharmacy. FYI the Chanel creme I bought at Charles De Gaulle Paris was made in New Jersey, just so you know. Very disappointing.

How refreshing !
Most women are drowning in products and the idea of having an elaborate routine.
She has great skin. The question to ask her :
1. What is your diet like ?
2. Do you exercise ?
3. Tell us more about that facial ?
Huh. Looks like she is wearing at least lipstick and mascara in the photo.
She’s got beautiful hair!
And I use Burt’s Bees lip balm, too!

I agree, if I didn’t take my makeup off I would be covered in zits! She must be very lucky genetically. :)
Il n’y a pas de femmes laides, mais paresseux femme dans ce monde. et un bon maquillage est très important pour une femme. il semble bon ~ mon amie va l’aimer~^o^~
too frugal to be true. or does burt’s bees also come in the pink shade one can see on the photo? there is nothing shameful about wearing lipstick. so why not admit it?
Yes actually, it does! Personally, I love their very lightest pink!
Ça me rappelle mon “rituel” beauté quanf j’étais ado.

Yay, Jesse, for honesty!
I’ve always wondered how many women actually take off all the makeup before bed instead of saying they do?
If you have a full life, like to stay up late doing any number of things and aren’t totally focused on yourself, chances are you don’t take off your makeup each night.
At the end of the day, your skin condition is basically the result of the genes you got at birth (can’t pick your family)–product can’t undo genetics, though plastic surgery appears to be able to some extent.
However, it is important to brush teeth before bed every night. Losing teeth is not good on any level. In the choice between brushing teeth and removing makeup, brushing teeth wins every night.
Like that beauty minute (real beauty minute)!! Very me…..I also do not use so much makeup, that I could not go to sleep without all that cleaning ….
Why would you bother spending time to put on make-up and not take it off?
That’s one reason why I don’t wear it. The first is ecological reasons. Chlorine-bleached cotton pads or washing towels every day just aren’t eco-friendly on any level.
All with the Burt’s bees (inexpensive) and that sunscreen is a good one. The papaya may be a big component. I don’t know where she lives but no way could I not at least wash my face with something. Also, she is not specifying what type of makeup she uses. Is it completely natural. Maybe that plays a part.
I’m sorry but I don’t think Jesse’s telling the truth!
Hi Hilary! No way to prove it, but she did tell me this in person, and she seemed pretty trustworthy to me :)
Hi Brie. Thanks for coming back to me. Jesse is very lucky to have such a great complexion and It’s brilliant to have such a simplified routine that works for her. I do think it’s worth pointing out that for most people if they do not remove their SPF at night, it could cause skin problems as SPfs are designed to stay put and can clog the pores if not removed properly plus those of us who live in busy cities have a lot of pollution which can stress the skin so a good cleanse Can be a pleasing and necessary ritual at the end of the day.
It is interesting to see what routines different people have. Thank you.
Bonjour,
Merci pour cette article!
Yep, she is not lying, I think :). This is my routine too. Finally someone brave enough to tell it. Of course I don’t remove anything at night. Just like Carine Roitfeld. And of course I know some people cannot tolerate such a thing.
Elle est la définition même de la beauté naturelle. Elle n’en fait pas des caisses et elle n’en a pas besoin. J’adore ce genre de personne !
Would love love love if you added “hair” to this blog segment! Most of the women interviewed always have easy looking but chic hair. Would love to know their regiment or products.
Sorry but I do not understand how someone can go to bed knowing they have makeup on, I take off my makeup as soon as I get home after washing my hands.
Well, not washing my face in the evening is for me simply no go, no matter if I wear makeup or not!!! After the whole day activities, like working, walking in the city and etc. I just feel covered in dust and other civilization particles that I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving it on for the whole night. For me the skin needs to rest and regenerate at night and to do so has to be free of dirt.
And I am not sure if she looks so great, she is very pretty, yes, but how old is she? If she is 55, then she indeed has a beautiful skin, but what if she is 35 or 30? Well, then I wouldn’t consider her skin looking that brilliant.
C’est qui?
Who is she?
For once, a routine I can relate to! Usually leaving your make up on for the night is spoken of as the greatest sin against skin. At least she looks lovely and very cool.
Finally, someone with a similar regimen as mine haha… I end up feeling guilty sometimes with all the washing, toning, and exfoliating I see online…
Would love love love if you added « hair » to this blog segment! Most of the women interviewed always have easy looking but chic hair.
