A Beauty Minute with Jeanne Damas
10 years ago by
Morning: Every morning, I wash my hair with a gentle Klorane shampoo made with oat milk. I also put Opalis almond cream on the ends. I always let my hair air dry so it has a natural shape to it. Every single day of the year, I put moisturizer on my face after the shower (Aésop mandarine hydrating cream) and on my body (La Roche Posay Lipikar liquid gel) and a drop of 50 SPF sunscreen every day (best beauty secret of all time: protect yourself from the sun).
As for my makeup, the products I use, even when I don’t wear makeup are: Mac brow gel to bring out my eyebrows, then I curl my eyelashes every morning, and I apply Mac Sheen Supreme lip color (in Venomous Violet) with my fingers – I use it as a lip balm. After that, I’ll apply a different matte red depending on my mood (red, prune, pink, orange red). I apply it generously with my fingers to get a melted, messy look. While I’m putting on makeup, I keep my damp hair in a low chignon. At the end of the morning, I take out the chignon, and it leaves great natural- looking waves in my hair.
Day: The product I can’t do without is my colored “lip balm” – Sheen Supreme Venomous Violet lip color. I apply it multiple times throughout the day (if I’m not wearing lipstick) because I hate having bare lips.
I also take my YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch luminizing pen with me. It’s the only thing I put on my skin during the day. I also keep my hand cream with me (Nuxe honey dream) because I hate having dry skin.
Night: My favorite makeup for going out, the one I use the most, is my prune colored lipstick made of a mixture of Sheen Supreme Venomous Violet, Diva matte, and Viva Glam 3. I apply all three of them generously with my fingers and I go outside the lines, then wipe off the excess with a cotton swab.
For my eyes, I wear a very thin line of black eye liner just to lengthen the eye, and I always curl my lashes (I almost never wear mascara – I like natural lashes)
Then I put on a bit of blush and my luminizing pen to brighten my skin.
When I get home, I use Bioderma makeup remover to take off my makeup. Then I apply Nuxe honey dream.
I love the idea of taking the time to our beauty ritual it’s a kind of a time just for us .i think it’s great to give the body and face a relax time before going to sleep and in the morning…what I love is finding beauty ritual in different culture..for example the ladies in India are amazing with their hair I had the best hair massage in India ….in Maroco it’s more about the body and the softness of the skin….

The perfect amount of product, and now I am convinced to try that shampoo. A wise woman once told me no matter how blessed one might be with nice skin in their youth, don’t use a million and one products. Keep it simple and personal. Your body and face are not a test! and switching every week or month is a sure way to develop an irritation. ps. Jeanne is just the prettiest.
I really glad to finally get a “Beauty Routine” from Jeanne (been wanting one!). I especially love her methods for lip-enhancement…: “going outside the lines (! :-))”… applying generously, mixing multiple shades to get the color she likes. She masters it!
Cet article me montre qu’il y a vraiment des “standards” de consommation en beauté… J’ai exactement la même routine que Jeanne! Vive les Françaises :) :) :)

She is so pretty! I am buying that MAC lipstick immediately!
Love Jeanne! http://vanitypresse.com/2014/06/16/mac-lipstick-capricious-ruby-woo-jeanne-damas/
I love these beauty moments and am blown away on how very few of these amazing women wear foundation. Almost none. It’s all skin, maybe mascara and some lipstick. I have a skin routine that I love and it making my skin better and protected but I am still far from going out without a tinted moisturizer or concealer or both.
The idea of building a colour by combining various lipsticks sounds so fun!
Lovely Jeanne, she’s beautiful x

YES!!! The ultimate beauty minute!!! So obsessed with Jeanne!
Natural beauty with the least amount of makeup possible is the best!
I am amazed that she doesn’t like mascara–I thought I was the only one with this preference :-).
Oh I love Bioderma! I discovered it from this blog and now it’s available in our country, it’s one of my can’t-live-withouts!
Thanks for sharing! I love this beauty! Would be nicer looking with jewelry on, I suppose. http://jewelryunderfive.blogspot.com
I love her natural beauty, Jeanne is gorgeous!

This post made me think at dyed eyelashes. Surely she can avoid mascara as her lashes are so dark (or maybe dyed ;-))
Garance or Alex: why don’t you think about a well done post on eye lashes dyeing?? I’m always wondering about that… Kisses
Air-dried hair is the best if you use the right products! Great article!
I absolutely love this girl. She’s my spirit animal, a young woman I will always look up to. Thank you for always featuring her!
I can’t stand the feeling of wet hair hanging around my neck and shoulders, and rubbing against my clothing (making them feel damp against my skin). I don’t mind doing an air-dry at the beach or something, but how does it work for people who have to get dressed and go to work in the morning (and sometimes in not-so-nice weather, too)?
thanks for that article
Stunning. I love that color on her.
Hey guys. Just letting you know that the links from shop the story are not working. Cheers, Viviana
Hi Viviana,
Thank you for the note! It might be because this post is from 2014 and therefore the products may not still be available. Sorry about that and hope this helps! x Natalie
