Windows of New York
13 years ago by
This morning, while browsing the web (still one of my favorite occupations) I found this really cool illustration website…
Only windows, only New York, but I guess it’s the simplicity of the concept that caught my eye.
Pure eye candy that will for sure become cult, if it’s not already.

J’ai bien l’intention de les trouver en vrai ces fenêtres et de faire quelques photos! Ca pourrait faire des montages sympas!

C’est super joli, j’aim bien les couleurs et le style!xx
Such lovely website! True that sometimes simplicity, when done very well, surpasses any other aspects in art and media. I still have a long, loooong way to go then. Thanks for sharing, G

This reminds me of a little book I gave a New Yorkophile friend of mine that was a collection of pen and ink drawings of views outside apartment windows throughout the city. “the City Outside my Window.” Here’s the description from Amazon: From Matteo Pericoli, the celebrated author of Manhattan Unfurled, comes a unique collection of illustrated cityscapes. In these intimate drawings of window views, Pericoli captures the essence of the city by showing us what New Yorkers see when they look out their windows. The City Out My Window shows us a series of private New Yorks, as seen by Tom Wolfe, Tony Kushner, Nora Ephron, Stephen Colbert, Richard Meier, Oliver Sacks, Mario Batali, David Byrne, and other artists, writers, and thinkers who help make the city what it is. The book includes their comments on what they see out their window and is introduced by Pulitzer Prize-winning architecture critic Paul Goldberger.
Super chouette! Simple et efficace, tout ce que j’aime… Jolie trouvaille Garance, comme d’habitude!
I want a window of New York in Vienna!

I love this and what a fabulous marketing tool!
Very cool and very simple. It does seem to really apply to New York and gives the city a great aesthetic.
