The Perfect Flat?

Shoe, that is…
All of us at the studio have an undiluted respect and appreciation for flat shoes (how we feel about them is actually pretty of serious!!). They’re a more practical approach to life in New York where you can easily walk 10 miles in a day, and you never know when you might encounter a cobble stoned street – the true enemy of high heels.
We love flats even more so for the expansive range of shapes, fabrics and forms they come in. G loves her Porsellis, Brie’s signature is surely becoming her Church’s, I have fallen for my recently acquired Robert Clergerie brogues, and we ALL have a real soft spot for sneakers!
Then, of course, we’re approaching boot weather…
What type of flat do you love the most? Do you have all sorts like we do for different occasions?
I recently purchased a pair of men’s Ludlow wingtips from J.Crew. I wear them all the time! It’s a great shoe for fall.
I have a pair of oxfords that I love
Ray-Ban Giveaway on my blog!

2 pairs of docmartens, the polley and the more classic made in england ones, all black. But I always end up wearing my flat…converse, lol.
Oxfords! I love my handmade pair from Cordani.
Neda,
I love lov this pair. Could you please give me details of it so that I may go look them up ?
Fratelli Rossetti “dandy” shoes ! Perfect with everything, especially efficient at calming down girlier outfits for the office.
j’adore les flats, c’est obligatoire à Paris en tout cas :)
j’apprécie énormément la marque Aerosoles, des chaussures confortables et chics.

Um… good question… Five years ago I had a very serious obsession with ballerinas. Then I move on to oxfords. Afterwards I had an affair with loafers but they weren’t as comfortable as I expected. Maybe I didn’t find the right one for me? And finally, since last year I wear my sneakers (White & Gold custom made Stan Smiths or black Nikes) all the time. However, I must admit that my true love will always be the good old pair of white Converse. I don’t wear them so often now because I’m afraid I’m getting too old for them… But I will always love them! Converse forever!
xx,
E.

My favourite are my pony hair cheetah dot smoking slippers with red tassels. But it’s getting too cold for them, so now I opt more for Oxfords, sneakers or boots. I like boots, too, but I don’t want to wear them yet.
I do love flats mostly because I can walk and daydream along the way with less risk that I will twist my ankle or fall on my face. From brogues to slippers, I enjoy donning I wide range of flats and I love that there is such a variety to chose from now compared to say a couple of years ago.

I’m lucky I’m tall and I almost only do flats– high-tops, brogues, sandals all the time if I can (why I live in LA). Plus, I’m a chef and my feet are too precious to destroy. The most heel I can get into is a 2 1/2 inch, but really prefer the Doris Day kitten. And thank god for booties, because that little bit of heel is a savior for some style. HOWEVER, when I do slip a real heel on I do feel much sexier.
Tiens, j’ai les mêmes Clergerie en crème et bleu pétrole ! (et des tas d’autres chaussures plates – mes préférées du moment, mes mocassins Gucci !)

As a mom and working woman I love my flats. For summer and inbetween I do loafers and ballet flats (Lanvin, Tods and Chloe are my jam) and for winter I have brogues (Churches, and I just got the off-white Balanciaga Derby shoes with black rubber soles from mytheresa.com), heeled loafers (Acne) and Chelsea boots (Acne, Isabel Marant).
I love my heels, but unless I’m going somewhere terribly formal I am not prepared to suffer for the sake of fashion any longer. My shoes have to work for me, not vice versa!
Robert Clergerie are a lovely french brand which i want to try. While pointy toes are feminine and edgier, the flat I wear the most is the LK Bennett driving shoes I bought last year in red. I end up carrying them around with me and they are so comfortable. I’ll wear heels but then switch into those for the Looooooooooong walks which i enjoy anyway.
I love my miserocchi loafers! chic, comfy and preppy!
Sneakers! Unfortunately there are times when I have to trade them for something more “appropriate”. Then I really like my Boss loafers (vintage – I bought them about 10 years ago and did not wear them for many, many years) and my Jimmy Choo pointed toe flats. I have an eye on a pair of Fratelli Rossetti, but first my budget needs a little resuscitation after a coat and boots hunting.
