F/W 15 Style Hacks
9 years ago by
Looking at the F/W 2015 collections, I’m inspired to take some of the trends I see on the runway and put them to use right now. Why wait a year? Here are three simple style hacks for the season:
1. Cut Your Turtleneck
Bare necks were a rare sight on the F/W runways, with a wide array of scarves keeping models warm. My favorites were at Tome and Altuzarra, where minimalist scarves were paired with evening dresses. It looked as though they had cut the neck off of a turtleneck and worn it more like a choker. I’m tempted to go buy a cheap turtleneck now and go at it with a pair of scissors…
2. Buy Big Buttons
Oversized buttons were a prominent embellishment for collections inspired by the ’70s, like Victoria Beckham and Derek Lam. This seemingly small addition adds both shape and a bit of playfulness to a monochromatic pantsuit, for example. You only need one big button to create a focal point. Try taking the buttons off your existing suits and pants and replacing them with something different.
3. Tie Your Scarf Like a Stole
Since you’re set with your new turtleneck scarf, now you can use your actual scarf for other purposes. The fur stole is back in a big way — we saw it at Jason Wu, Thakoon and Creatures of the Wind. Drape your scarf across one shoulder instead of two and tie it at the bottom, kind of like you’re Ms Fall/Winter 2015! #winning
Les boutons sont apparemment dans l’air du temps, il y a une superbe exposition en ce moment aux Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris : “Déboutonner la mode”
Il n’est jamais trop tôt pour bien faire! ;)
Très sympas ces idées!;)
