That’s A Wrap

You know me, I love coats. But wrap coats don’t really work on me, no idea why.
Too bad because, during winter, sometimes you just want to feel a little more feminine after months of a bulky coat. And the wrap coat has such a nice, womanly silhouette.
It sure works perfect on Alex, in the photo.
Love the wrap coat on her!

Amazing on such a tiny body…I like it!

Really lovely silhouette indeed. She looks tres chic.
Wrap coats (and dresses, tops etc) don’t work on me neither, I think it’s the same for all women with bigger cup sizes.
Have a nice day and stay warm!
I agree, it’s totally impossible to wear if you have big breasts…
Super chic, j’adore!

She looks super feminine! I like that the skirt is visible from under the coat. There was an old fashion rule that said the coat should be always longer, but I actually like it this way. It’s more creative and just looks interesting. As for me, I don’t really wear wrap coats. I prefer the oversized cut, especially for the colder weather, as I can put more layers underneath, because my waist is not accentuated anyway. But people (especially elderly women) often ask me why I wear something so shapeless and ugly. But comfy is a priority to me during winter :) Still, I think I’m going to try a wrap coat for a change, because with skirts or dresses it looks much more sophisticated!

I find that belts on coats seem to get higher and higher. I realized I hated my coat because the belt was on my ribs. I took off the belt loops and re-sewed them lower. Bingo. Much more comfortable.
Having a belt really helps keep you warm.
Yes!!!
a wrap coat is always very cute and classic

I love coats as well! For me winter it’s all about coats!
And her Anya Hindmarch handbag it’s the one to have & to hold!!

I, too, love the look of the “wrap coat” but it doesn’t suit me either. I have a more athletic kind of body, with “straight -ish” hips. I think the success of the style depends on the waist to hip ratio which is going to be greater in a curvier body type than mine.
I don’t love the look. Looks like she’s wearing a wool bathrobe.
Me too. I find they look great on others but they are not for me. Maybe I haven’t found the right one yet..

I like the way wrap coats feel–secure and warm. Big coats, even ones that sit just a bit away from my body, seem to let too much cold air up and in.
I prefer very big bulky coats especially in the cold weather when I want to feel like I am bundled in a cocoon. However, when dressing up on a cold night I do prefer something more fitted. A nicely tailored wool coat with long lines would be preferable to a wrap. She however looks fabulous.

This coat is beautiful. I have always been obsessed with coats, but now that I live in NYC I have a real excuse to invest.
Being talk and not exactly skinny myself, I go for the belted/slimmer coats to create the illusion of a slimmer shape. I love how Alex’s coat is not the same length as the skirt, makes the whole thing more interesting!!
Thanks for your share .
Great look, also the color combination! I think winter wrap coats are contraindicated with bigger cups caused by the volume. But take as a solid comfort wrap dresses, they work rather with XL-breasts than XS.
They don’t suit me either! I wonder why this is as so many people mention the same thing but seems to have different bodies. I always shy away from emphasising my waist anyway; it makes me look bulky round the middle. Alex looks amazing though and I’m very jealous of those who can wear this type of coat. Very feminine and chic.
J’adore!!!

amazing coat!

The color of her coat is my absolute fave!
Love your fox fur!

I love those coats, specially in camel and specially Max Mara’s.

Pareil !
I love this coat, the whole look actually. But we have 5 inches of snow on the ground so heels are no happening.
Garance, didn’t you wear a stunning navy wrap coat in one of your coat posts? Cos maybe? Or Marant? It was amazing and you looked so good in that photo!

Wrap coats are strange. They should work. The length and the cinched waist but it’s so hard to find one that flatters.
Great !

love photo :) !
Sadly, the feminine wrap coat does not work on me either. Pear shaped, petite figures create lots of fabric bunching on the half below the nipped in belted waist. Alex looks lovely!
I like this one! So classic!
