Edit No. 2 / Part 2 … Relaxed Suiting
9 years ago by
There’s an effortlessly cool style that you see everywhere on the streets of LA. The people embrace a more relaxed way of dressing, even when it comes to wearing a suit.
In this second edit from my recent trip to LA, Annina and I wanted to showcase the different ways a suit can be worn — in a very casual way (how I would wear a suit!!). I love that you could wear these looks not just in LA, but in any city at any time of year.
Softer materials, layering and relaxed shapes are what make the suit…
Those pics are gorgeous!!!
And love the 2nd outfit! ;-)

Great pictures..i would say what change is the attitude… if you enjoy a sunny place it makes you already less stressed than in a very cold weather ….In general in the summer people looks less stressed…
what i love in this pictures is the mix between a constructed line “official look”and a Jean…that what makes it modern and not classic…

J’adore l’idee de porter une chemise ou une veste en denim sous un blazer.
Oui a la “derigidifaction” (?) du tailleur-pantalon !

Yes, that’s the way to create a relaxed business look that even suits you well for any afterwork amusement. Could cry, that i gave away my GAP jeans jacket last year :( . I love LA for the relaxed livestyle but I would badly miss the course of four seasons. North Italy could be perfect in this regard.
Great photo arrangements!!!
The second photo reminds me of Miami Vice- the soft jacket and rolled up sleeves! :) Still, great outfits and I love the way the girls are wearing denim shirts under a suit jacket.

Aaaa, beautiful pictures and styling! This effortless and more casual style is really a red-hot trend for some time now which is great!
I just styled an outfit mixing a classic boyfriend-style wool coat with sneakers! And it looks great. I also featured one of your notebooks – thank you for the inspiration Garance – http://www.mywearforecast.com/?date=28.11.2014&style=CASUAL

Christine
very nice!
:-). Bien vu. Et ça depuis 20ans déjà . :-)
Gorgeous shots. Love the light in the first photo.

What about tiny girls? How to wear oversizes and does not look like wearing mother’s dress?

these are great examples of how to address an issue I am always playing around with. How does one meet requirements to look professional without resorting to a professional “uniform” where you look like everyone else? For those times a suit is required these looks are all formal enough to indicate how important you think this meeting, this class, this appointment are yet allow you to be different and authentic. I am always trying to navigate the line between being modern and edgy and looking eccentric. These are great inspirations.

Jolies photos!
C’est exactement ce que nous faisons chez Cheyma : on dédramatise les looks formal en les casualisant à bonne dose de fantaisie et de cool-attitude :)

It’s the sun that makes us more relaxed. We don’t always have to be bundled up. And we can quickly catch beach sunsets before dinner. Who wants to go to the beach all decked out, when sand will get on everything?
Maybe if she tucked in the shirt? The sleeveless coats and jackets I like less every time I see them, and I see them a lot.
