Smells like J.Crew
10 years ago by
Modern and fresh.
I’m the girl that grabs the J.Crew catalog for fashion and beauty inspiration. Those orangey coral lips? I’ve had them. That wispy, perfectly messy pony tail? I’ve attempted it. And now, I can smell like that girl too (is that weird? eh, it’s not weird)…
J.Crew just launched their first fragrances, No.31 and No.57, in collaboration with Arquiste parfums. If you’re more of a floral girl (coral lips) grab a bottle of No. 31, it’s fresh and feminine. If you’re a little more spicy (messy pony) No. 57 is for you, it’s warm with hints of vanilla and cinnamon.
Mmmm, smells good to be that girl.
Do we have an idea why these numbers….

Got them both, LOVE them both!
The J Crew catalogue women all look the same to me. The important question is, do these perfumes smell good? My expectations are low, not because J Crew doesn’t do everything else well, but because, well, for example, Viktor and Rolf were are the forefront of fashion and creativity at one point, and their perfumes are just Angel knock-offs. Most perfumes from big fashion houses are a disappointment. (Recent exceptions are Bottega Veneta and Carven and even then they are a bit boring if well done.)
Definitely gonna try those soon!

Although I love cinnamon & vanilla in cooking, I rarely care for it in perfumes. I really want to get a whiff of J. Crew’s stuff. :] // itsCarmen.com ? ?
This is so well written–mad props, Alex!
Je ne savais pas que cette marque avait sorti un parfum !

I might have to try the 57 if I can get away from my Chanel perfumes!
I thought the numbers had to do with an address relating to one of the stores?
J.Crew actually had a scent years and years ago – perhaps it was considered a ‘body spray’? – that smelled just like the beach. I loved it. I’m dying to smell these, especially No. 57. I love that they are inspired by and named from the first all-woman art exhibit in the US back in the ’40s.
Yay, how exciting
