I’m always cautious when it comes to fringe.
I’m afraid of looking a like I’m on the set of a western movie or have just left a biker gang, but this is the kind of fringe I could handle. I’ll be pairing my fringe skirt with a cool slip-on sneaker, just like this. It’s playful, chic and sexy.

I got a few fringed leather items from my mother, from the 70’s…all in leather or soft suede ….and having fun finding all the possibilities
not that easy to carry off though because fringes immediately call attention to you
But my inspiration is rock’n roll or hippy chic, think Kate Moss….never seen anyone rock a fringe like she does , never looks vulgar or silly like most of those Coachella fashion victims with layer upon layer of fringe overkill

Fringe for me are Marilyn’s in the ukulele scene in Some like it hot!
I do like a touch of fringe…. the trick is to wear ONE piece only…. any more and then you look like an extra for the wild wild west!… I have jackets boots and bags that are fringed… I wear them one at a time.

j’adore les fringues, et ça fait plus charleston que western pour moi. J’ai une jupe courte, bleu électrique à franges longues, et je la porte avec un tee lose gris et des Toms noires, ça passe nickel
I wear them more in a rock ckick kind of way, fringes are so cool!

I usually don’t like fringe, but this skirt is not bad at all. I actually don’t even think it would look bad to pair it with a thin ankle strap sandal to lengthen the legs more, or regular ballet flats. It’s a fine line though!

Nice image! The fringing is the perfect length for the skirt, her legs and her footwear. What was she wearing on the top? A slouchy white T with the sleeves rolled up? She looks like a modern rock reference to the Flapper Girl.
I wear fringes almost all the time – with jeans and Ts, formal lace shifts. Whether or not I resemble an extra from a Western movie or not doesn’t worry me – to each – their own, as long as you feel good in it. The girl above looks like she’s borrowing Pocahontas’ skirt, and I think that’s OK – although the folks who are against non-indigenous folk wearing or borrowing elements of outfits from other indigenous cultures – may not like that.
My fringes swing wildly from a super-supple vintage, oversized tan deerskin jacket from Mint Vintage on ASOS Marketplace; and the softest ever, medium sized, black leather, deeply fringed backpack by Pigeonhole. I’ve worn the two together, if I feel like it.
Wearing either or both with a red lip – either orangey or crimson – makes me feel less movie-set extra and more “me”.

I wear fringing almost all the time, in the form of a super-supple, 60 year old tan, mega-fringed oversized deerskin jacket from Mint Vintage on ASOS Marketplace, or a medium super-soft, black leather, deeply fringed back pack that is compact enough to double as an evening bag. I sometimes wear them both together, with jeans and a T, or a longish black or cream lace shift for evening with flat lace-up brogues.
Whether or not I look like an extra from a Western movie is of no concern to me. The girl above looks like she is borrowing an item from Pocahontas stash, but I think she looks great – from the knees down, anyway. I know there are those who would be unhappy about us appropriating the fringe as it looks Native American… but this deep fringing also reminds me of a mammoth’s wooly jacket, sooooo….
More than referencing a Western movie, I think she looks like she’s doing a very stylish biker-gang take on the 1920’s Flapper Girl. I can’t say the same for my tan, fringed deerskin jacket through – but I love it so much I’ll keep wearing it.
Anyway, Alex – I typed “Fringed Black Leather Skirt”, and this is the first one that came up – I’m sure there are loads more out there: get your fringe on, ladies.

I don’t like the fringe (on me). It always looks like once in a while fashion thing, but it’s true it reminds me of western movies. :D
It’s interesting how this skirt is paired with those slip on sneakers, but I’d rather go for the latter.

I have the same thing, love fringe, but afraid of it being to much of a costume. It looks great in photos, but on the street…They only way for me is at night, on a black jacket with black dress, where you can almost not see it, and then it adds a bit of surprise.

As for the fringes, I have a friend who LOVES fringes on bags so that’s what I’m getting for her birthday. Personally, I’d style aforementioned bag with flares, platform wedges, a crop top and long beachy hair. I might be a hippie at heart! ^.^

I just don’t. There is something wrong about fringe – unless you are a native American and you are wearing your traditional clothing. Otherwise … just pure NO.

I’ve never been a fan of fringe. It seemed too hippy for me. Until Valentino helped me make sense of it. Now I can’t get enough of it. I have a handful of Valentino’s fringed pieces, which I wear separately as an accent to otherwise staid outfits. As of yet, I haven’t worn any fringed clothing. Only accessories. That’s where fringe feels comfortable to me. For now. Who knows where the future will carry me?
