Up In The Clouds
9 years ago by
An art installation of white balloons, sculpted into the shape of magnificent clouds housed within London’s famous Covent Garden…
Plus a pulsating light, that beams into the installation a little like a heartbeat. (Meant to indicate the notion of Covent Garden as one of London’s most central structures.) Pretty spectacular, right?
The French photographer Charles Pétillon is the artist behind Heartbeat, this really incredible structure. What we think is probably one of the most photogenic installations in the city’s history — and we wish we were there to see it for ourselves!
If you’re in London, it will be on display until September 27th – more information here.
And here’s a little video on the concept and development of the work.
What do you think of it? Beautiful, no?
this made me smile

I am loving this piece! It reminds me of some of the work at NeoCon in Chicago.
Ooh – I love this very much! I wish I could be amongst that installation. It’s like a herd of cumulus clouds have stormed the arcade! Or being crowded in by clouds with hives :-)
Cette installation est vraiment poétique j’adore!
