The Ear Cuff

I’ve been contemplating the idea of the ear cuff ever since watching Peter Phillips apply jewels to the ears backstage at the Dries Van Noten show…
I wasn’t really ready for a DIY ear cuff, but I liked the idea of adding some bling to my ear in a more unexpected way. Ear cuffs aren’t a super new revelation, but it’s taken me a bit of time to warm up to them. I’ve had my ears pierced since forever but I never venture outside of a small diamond stud, so this would be a bold move for me.
The other day I tried on one of Annelise Michelson’s and was instantly hooked. It felt edgy and cool. I liked that all it took was a simple hair tuck to show it off.
What do you think of the ear cuff? Would you wear one?

Seulement, ce genre de bijou n’a toujours pas croisé mon chemin… je me demande même s’il y a des magasins qui en vendent à Québec :/

oui tu peux trouver des modèles de ear cuff au Québec! Je suis créatrice de bijoux basée à Montréal, et je fais beaucoup de bijoux oreilles trempés à l’or 18k inspirés par l’art déco, art nouveau et art indien. check mon site peut-être trouveras tu ton bonheur!

J’en ai acheté un sur eBay il y a un moment, un bijoux d’oreille représentant un carquois avec des flèches. Je ne l’ai presque pas (en fait, jamais) porté, ayant les cheveux très courts je trouve qu’on ne remarque que ça. Je préfère quand ça reste discret, donc c’est sans doute plus facile à porter lorsque l’on a les cheveux longs. Néanmoins, je trouve ça très joli ! Après tout dépend du modèle que l’on choisit (c.f les dragons et autres lézards… bof bof.)

I tried wearing one and I found myself ripping it out a lot of the time, or having my hair stuck in it. Not so chic. I would recommend hair-spraying that side of your hair to keep it behind your ear. Otherwise, the rhinestones will get you!

Not quite as fabulous as the one shown here, but then again if you’re not sure whether or not you’d wear it, it makes a nice starter cuff. I’d say just go for it though, that is such a beautiful piece.

Yes. I tried it. It was the biggest blunder ever. I was on Asos and found the most beautiful statement earcuff covered in little red diamonds. I reluctantly ordered it, forgetting my uhmm elephant ears.
When I put them on… I can’t even describe how horrible it was. I looked lile an Indian elephant. My boyfriend couldn’t stop laughing for another 20 minutes. Never again.

I love the ear cuff, I found a simple gold one for cheap on Etsy that I’d love to own. I’m thinking about getting it soon, but I also want my ear pierced again up there on the ‘conch’ part so I’m not sure how that would interfere, or if at all. I still find them adorable though.

I saw one just last week that I really liked, but I haven’t bought it yet. I wondered if it would stay on my ear. It has the post at the bottom, and I suppose the rest is supposed to curve in enough to stay put. I think I’ll have to try one, since I love edgy things.

Umm, no! To me it’s not very pretty. Reminds me of those
ridiculous and nerdy Bluetooth devices. Ear cuffs are a “trying too hard” look.
A real cartilage piercing or two with beautiful little
diamond encrusted (Stone) earrings on the other hand is STUNNING!!
